So CIG's story is that the refund was only for $330.

ArsTechnica has changed the title to
Developers say a Star Citizen guild did not get $45,000 refund [Updated]
Cloud Imperium says refund was actually for just $330

quote:

Update: Cloud Imperium spokesperson Dave Swofford tells Ars that "a lot of the information was fabricated" in the Reddit post discussed the below. Swofford says the account in question was issued an individual refund of $330, not the $45,000 claimed in posted screenshots and videos which Swofford says do not reflect actual complaints requests logged by the company. What's more, Swofford says the refund was handled "in a timely fashion" with "no extended debate over whether we should."

Ars regrets the omission from the original story, which appears below.

these can be fixed with the $4999 completionist pledge package (trying to get the amounts cleared with steam)

as if right now, love pledge would hit EA with over $50000 in unreleased DLC

the people at steam are nice but I'm not sure they "get" it

As usual, the only interesting thing in Eve is when a big story about goonswarm causing drama happens, the tldr is:
Goonswarm flipped the dude in charge of one of their enemy's giant death star sized parking garages, took everything from the org, parked the garage in the middle of their space and camped everyone who was logged out in it and trying to get out

Other leader of said organization has been permabanned from Eve for making death threats about the traitor in private chat, not realizing that said private chat was being livestreamed to twitch

Total take is something like $20,000 worth of assets, possibly more
the spicy context is these guys used to be friends with goons, happily sheltering under goon swarms ample fat folds. But last year the galaxy ganged up on goons and these guys switched sides to attack goons because they wanted to be in the winning side of that war

The drama is delicious but friends don't let friends play Eve

I stopped reading PCGamer back in 2004 because their journalists are kind of poo poo. It was pretty obvious they get kickbacks somehow since they would write praises for games that were obviously steaming dumps. Nice to see they're keeping it up.

Also, CIG is obviously telling bullshit. That guy was a CIG supporter, why would he fake a bunch of poo poo if he likes CIG? Doesn't make any sense.

Shills are in some sort of signal-boosting paradox right now. Either the refund was only $330 and they link to the article as proof or they ignore it completely and let the $45,000 refund continue to gain publicity.
