A friendly face.

Anyone seen Dark Tranquillity lately? I haven't even listened to them in years but they're playing on Thursday a couple hours away with Warbringer and Striker as support.. trying to decide if it's worth it.

I am loving it! Murder scene is my new favorite breakup song. My only complaint about Arch Enemy as a whole is I wish the lyrics were a bit more subtle.

There's a new master's hammer song and it sounds a lot better than their last album because they got rid of the stupid dance beats and actually tried to write some riffs. They've been playing the old albums live so maybe that's had a positive effect https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pbDZUbkUqJE

Vintersorg is such a good band. I remember listening to them in high school when they were recommended under the progressive/folk tag. Really help me get exposed to black metal too. Cosmic Genesis is probably one of my favorite albums.

I saw them on the last tour and they were good, but they have two fill-in guitarists and they lean really heavily towards the newer keyboard-driven stuff. The oldest song they played was ThereIn.

This strikes me better than the previous new song did, looking forward to hearing this while getting blood sprayed on me from the neck of a dancing/flailing Donald Trump who they will probably remove the hands from to reveal he has smaller hands inside of.

Which of these shows are worth going to? I'm currently checking out: Dark Tranquility, Cattle Decapitation, Black Dahlia Murder, Gwar, and Ne Obliviscaris. Are Archspire, Aggression, and Dirkschneider worth checking out?

NeO is the best band on that list and I'm planning to hit that tour up. The Cattle Decap package should be pretty fun, especially Full of Hell. I'm not a Black Dahlia fan but they are entertaining enough live and Suffocation + Decrepit Birth is pretty nice.

Metal owns because this could be an allegory about puberty or it's a literal story of a nerd turning into a giant monster and ripping people apart.
