GOLLOCKS!
Here's Roy Moore: 9/11 Was Punishment for U.S. Turning Away From God posted by freeper C19fan

It's a Breitbart poo poo about this CNN piece. Video is at the bottom of the article.

CNN posted:

Moore, a hardline conservative running against fellow Republican and incumbent Sen. Luther Strange in a runoff primary race, made the comments in February during a speech at the Open Door Baptist Church, a video reviewed by CNN's KFile shows. Moore, the former chief justice of Alabama, quotes verses from the Old Testament's Book of Isaiah, which have been used by some fringe elements of Christianity to suggest that the Bible prophesied the attacks.

"Because you have despised His word and trust in perverseness and oppression, and say thereon ... therefore this iniquity will be to you as a breach ready to fall, swell out in a high wall, whose breaking cometh suddenly at an instance,'" Moore said, quoting Isaiah 30:12-13. Then he added: "Sounds a little bit like the Pentagon, whose breaking came suddenly at an instance, doesn't it?"

Moore, continued, "If you think that's coincidence, if you go to verse 25, 'there should be up on every high mountain and upon every hill rivers and streams of water in the day of the great slaughter when the towers will fall.' You know, we've suffered a lot in this country, maybe, just maybe, because we've distanced ourselves from the one that has it within his hands to heal this land."

Later in the same speech, Moore suggested God was upset at the United States because "we legitimize sodomy" and "legitimize abortion."
[...]
Moore made similar comments in January 2003 during a speech at Georgetown on the role God plays in the government. Again citing the book of Isaiah, Moore said it foretold a "day of great slaughter, when the towers fall."

"How many of you remember Americans running to get gas masks because (of) some bearded man in Afghanistan?" Moore asked. "Fear struck this country -- you see, there are consequences when we turn away from our source of our strength."

Let's start this off on the right foot.

In a way he’s right, even from a secular viewpoint which doesn’t have God coming down inflicting vengeance.

Look at Europe. Back when they were Christian, the LAST THING they would permit would be getting overrun by a bunch of Muslims, given the history of that ‘religion’. But now they are no longer Christian...so they have no ideology from which to fight back, so they let the masses in.

Pretty much the same here. We have open borders for people from that part of the world because we’re simply unable to say our religion is better than theirs. If we could go back to being a Christian nation (with a church not infiltrated with Snowflakes), Trump would have never had to deal with the courts on a Muslim ban, because the ban would have been codified into law decades ago, given their history...and obviously the 9-11 types would have never made it here.

Moore is okay in my book. He has stood for the ten commandments and never wavered. When a country as great as ours that was founded on Christian values turns it’s back towards God, you do it at your own risk. Bad things happen all the time to countries and individuals. It’s how you accept trajedy and how you ask for repentance and or give Thanksgiving for the gift of grace and mercy. As a country that is about as far away from God as possible (officially that is) I would always default to Him.

Ah yes, the "soft dictatorship" of being removed from office for violating Constitutionally protected civil rights.

The insiders are out to destroy people who get in their way like Roy Moore has.

Peter Hitchens wrote in his column last Sunday about the notion of a “soft dictatorship” that we live under.

It isn’t the throw people in prison kind of dictatorship but one that causes people who have the wrong viewpoints to lose their jobs.

Just like Roy Moore has twice for his views.

He was twice placed in office by the votes of the people. He was not removed by the votes of the people, but by the “deep state” for standing on what he campaigned for. Why would that offend you. This is Free Republic, where most of us are against gay marriage and for the Ten Commandments.

In placing his version of the Ten Commandments in the Alabama Supreme Court building, Moore endorsed his sect of Christianity over other sects like Roman Catholicism and other religions like Judaism. Government, and government officials, should not be doing that.

I wonder how this one would react to "Can anyone that believes in Islam argue that a nation that rebels against the will of Allah will not suffer?"

quote:

To: C19fan

“You know, we’ve suffered a lot in this country, maybe, just maybe, because we’ve distanced ourselves from the one that has it within his hands to heal this land,”

Turning away from God has consequences for individuals and nations. When we ignore God, we lose protections from evil. Can anyone argue that the nation has turned away from God? Can anyone that believes in God argue that a nation that rebels against God will not suffer?

This is very elementary for most Bible believing Christians. But, the “misunderstanding” of Judge Moore’s statements by the secular media is predictable whether feigned or out of ignorance.

Frankly what he said is the Truth. Sometimes the truth upsets people. Sometimes the truth offends people.

The country is going down the toilet. Is it any coincidence that the less religious America becomes, the closer it gets to being destroyed from within?

The evidence is clear that it was God's protective hand that guided America into existence. But as we as a nation turn our back from God, it is not surprising that He will pull his protective hand back from us.

We threw God out of our schools and public institutions. We are now headed towards Civil anarchy and as Robert Bork pointed out, we are slouching towards Gomorrah.

We all know what happened to Gomorrah. Frankly, it is happening in Europe.

Simply put, "if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land." 2 Chron 7:14

On September 23, 2017 the heavens will display an amazing celestial sign. The “sign” is found in the book of Revelations and will be portrayed across the skies….
“Now a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a garland of twelve stars. Then being with child, she cried out in labor and in pain to give birth.” – Revelation 12:1
The constellation Virgo, will be clothed in the sun, the moon will be under her feet, and on her head will be the twelve stars of Leo the Lion. She then gives birth to Jupiter.

Correct!

Freep was downright apoplectic that a man that'd been hiding his actual sexual orientation for decades would dare to come out now because society would accept him. Unfortunately he also did so by leaving his wife and six children and that made them even more outraged, but it was sad and moderately justified outrage and thus not funny.

Exclusive: US government wiretapped former Trump campaign chairman (BREAKING!!!)

Trump claimed that Obama was illegally wiretapping Trump Tower for political reasons. The actual story was that Manafort had been the subject of a lawful investigation since 2014 and Trump had a potential foreign agent working on his campaign. But of course Freepers take this as vindication of Trump and ultimate proof of Obama's perfidy.

YES HELLO I’m a Marxist-Feminist Slut—How Do I Find an Open Relationship?

No, that's not satire. It's from the Q&A section of The Nation.

the article posted:

Dear Liza,

I’m a 32-year-old woman who would like to have kids and a life partner in the not-so-distant future. And lucky me! I’ve recently started dating an excellent candidate. But I can’t even pretend to think it’s possible (or desirable) to have sex with just one person for the rest of my life or even, frankly, for a few years.

Monogamy feels antithetical to the type of feminism and anticapitalism I subscribe to. I am repulsed by the idea of being a man’s property. Also, monogamy—like capitalism—requires us to believe in a false scarcity: that we have to struggle for every little bit and that everything we gain comes at someone else’s expense. The kind of liberatory future I’d like to see is one of abundance and generosity and sharing. One of the few places we can experiment with that now is in our love lives.

But ALL the decent men I’ve dated are really opposed to open relationships, while the men I’ve slept with who say they fancy the idea don’t ever stick around long enough for the “relationship” part of an open relationship.

This leaves me feeling like once I find a partner, the options are: 1) cheating (crummy and unethical, also a big anxiety-inducing headache); 2) waiting for the mythical “one” who will magically make me never attracted to anyone else (I’m fairly certain this is a hoax); or 3) retire from my glorious days as a loud, proud slut and gradually wither away inside as I suffocate one of the parts of my life, personality, and politics I cherish most. Please tell me there is another option out there.

—A Marxist-Feminist Slut

Dear Slut,

Yes, there are better options! With your new boyfriend, treat this as you would any other major difference you have before settling down together: patiently and by tolerating some contingencies. If you wanted to live on the noisiest corner in Bushwick and your partner was happiest in rural Tennessee, you might take turns living in each other’s preferred locale, finding unexpected delights there. Experiment with a period of monogamy—remember, many people are most jealousy-prone early in a relationship—on the condition that he agrees to consider other arrangements in the future. Or perhaps some adventures are more acceptable to him than others. (Group sex only? Dalliances that take place out of town? No exes or class enemies?) If so, are you open to such compromises? And please attend closely to the tone of these conversations—you need to be able to discuss your desires with him without being made to feel immoral, disgusting, or greedy. If such talks give you hope, hang in there! If not, he might not be your future baby daddy.

Which would be so sad! But there are men who want exactly what you want. You might have to approach finding them in a deliberate way, which can feel unromantic. Your OkCupid profile should state clearly that you are seeking open relationships only, and that you are looking for a long-term “primary” partner—no hookups. (Those last two words are painful for a slut to type, but if you don’t, you’re just going to continue hosting delightful libertines with no interest in making a domestic life with you.) A good friend of mine, annoyed by the very problem you name (men into open relationships without the relationship part), recently tried this, with excellent results. Also, find your local poly and open-love communities and attend their social events, where many men are seeking someone just like you. Given your political thinking, I’d love to suggest that starting an Engels reading group will bring the right boys to the yard, but alas, we know better: Radicals can be conservative in their personal lives.

Lol this guy doesn't know poo poo about early human relationships. There was likely a massive Y-chromosomal bottleneck around 8,000 years ago coinciding with the Neolithic Revolution, the start of agriculture and fixed settlements, that had the vast majority of men never reproducing while almost all women did.

The cause? Most likely the dominant men having harems while the less dominant men were reduced to some lesser status. A lovely system, but hey, that's what early humans were probably doing.

They should probably look at their own favorite book and wonder whether Solomon's 700 wives and 300 concubines had any bearing on monogamy.
