The Xbone will with OG Xbox compatibility. Can lan party with Xbox, 360 and XB1 supposedly for stuff like the original Halo. I think those travel things are for stuff like military and people who travel to gaming conventions and the like. Maybe if you live in one of those tiny houses and have to pack it up at night and slide it under your composting toilet in order to cook dinner.

If I mod my NES Classic to have all NES games, does that "take over" Nintendo's emulator or something? What I mean is that Nintendo is using some nifty "on the fly" emulator, where they can patch things into the ROMs like the flashing animation in Zelda being something the NES isn't even capable of. If I hack mine, would I lose the ability to see stuff like that?

If you mod games onto the NES Classic, they will use the same emulator as the built-in games, unless you specifically add Retroarch or something and set that as the default instead.

Figures. But it uses any average 5V usb power supply. Heck, the monitor I use it on has USB3 ports (but not connected to my PC) and my NES CE powers off of that no problem

Everywhere but the USA required the purchase of an ac adapter. This was due to some sort of regulation IRC. e: It's a micro-usb. Pretty sure the adapter is a standard 5v. This is the NES classic one, which should be the same for the SNES classic. https://store.nintendo.com/ng3/browse/productDetailColorSizePicker.jsp?productId=prod840065 glassyalabolas fucked around with this message at 12:21 on Sep 16, 2017 |

Just to make things clear: any micro-USB power source (e.g. phone charger) will do for powering the thing? I can understand why they don't want to pack one in, I've got like four spares already.

Yes, it's regular USB power and anything which supplies it will work, including USB ports on a console (I've done this). If anything that should increase your options of where and how it can be hooked up.

Related to earlier discussion about Lufia 2, an aspiring musician on youtube/patreon took a request of mine and did a really great cover of The Last Duel from Lufia 2, definitely worth a listen. He adds a nice little calm touch to it in the middle before kicking it back into overdrive. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Gf-EtxgrXM&hd=1

Yep, just have multiple usb/hdmi cables ready to go and you can move it around to different TVs/monitors depending on where you want to play without having to keep running cables. As I said above, I just have it connected to the built-in USB3 hub in my monitor (which isn't even connected to a PC in order to supply data/power). It doesn't require a lot of current to run, the bottom of the NES classic just says 5V input, doesn't even give a min Amp for input.

Even though I know it's not as good of a game, I like Lufia 1 better. Probably just have more nostalgia for it, but yeah. I wish Estopolis would come back. This is a hella good jam.

I've powered the NES off a USB 2.0 port which are spec'd at 500mA. I wouldn't recommend it for long periods of time as it may be a bit low, but it'll work. The output of the packed-in NES Classic power is 1A, for what it's worth.

The EU has fines for including proprietary connectors in with electronics, IIRC. It's totally cut down on plastic garbage.
