I feel like quarterback hits are worth less when they occur after the QB throws the ball but maybe that's just me

I think pain and punishment to the QB definitely add up over the course of the game. Especially if you can concuss him.

Two steps or a step and a half are fine for a QB hit I think

So what's the excuse now for the Eagles giving up on their running game already? Let's check the stats:

Not great! Wentz is a wacky scramble boy but he shouldn't be our leading rusher. Sproles hasn't really been a threat yet and they've already given up on Blount for reasons I don't know. Smallwood sort of exists. In previous seasons our offensive line was injured and blown all to hell but this year they just can't seem to make plays and I don't think Wentz is the type of QB that can take all of that on his shoulders. If they can't get any sort of ground game going I don't have much hope for the rest of the season.

e: he got the saying wrong but lol

The Chiefs defense is really good; I'd hold off on worrying for at least another game or two.

Besides, it's not like the NFC East looks like a lock for any one of these teams

I watched that game on a monday morning while working on a ship in japan. The cowboys had a drive that started either near the end of the first or at the beginning of the second. Romo and crew just chewed up the clock down the field and scored a TD. There was around a minute and change when the giants got the ball back. They scored and tied the game.

Time of possession in the first half was something stupid like 25:5 but the score was tied :smith:

Eagles are 1-1 after two road games and they have a division win. I'm pretty happy with where they stand.

Of course if they lose to the Giants next week everything will be a complete disaster.

I'm assuming that the Giants look good tonight and everyone sits at 1-1. Philly looked good for a lot of that game, even if Wentz still sucks at throwing the ball. KC had more talent, rest, and preparation, and was 12-4 last season. I just would like to see Philly put together drives like they did at the end of the game more often. I suspect that a lot of their success that drive came from KC playing prevent and taking it easy.

Yeah this was huge.

Without a very unlikely Sproles fumble and a very bad Wentz throw into a defender's helmet the Eagles might actually win that.

Philly also hasn't really hasn't been bailed out by the special teams like in the past. Last year it felt like special teams had a huge play be it a turnover or big return at least once a game and that just hasn't manifested.

I can see why some NFL people think Wentz is the best young QB, he is pretty good at keeping his eyes downfield when being blitzed and I feel like that's the hardest/rarest skill to teach QBs

But he can't throw the ball. Between week 1 and 2 he's probably hosed up 4 passes of less than 5 yards. What the gently caress.

Donovan McNabb never learned to throw a short pass with touch and he had a long career.

Dak had an Osweiler-esque underthrown ball yesterday to a wide open Beasley about 5 yards downfield.

Granted, Dak was pressured all day, but my point is don't lose hope on the younglings yet.
