^^^He's underground Spider-Man^^^ If he needs to move, Tyrannus pulls the plug to prevent others from getting youth water. We already know Tyrannus hates sharing.

I like how they've just completely embraced the absurd. It's the best possible use of this medium, with its many, many limitations.

I guess Spider-Man got tired of figuratively pulling the plug on his villains.

It's actually not unknown for artificial lakes to have plugs, so that they can be drained for cleaning. Though they usually also have a dam, rather than a superhero causing a cave-in.

I love the murder-mystery style subplot of finding the ghost writer in NSM. It has to be one of you fuckers here, it's undeniable at this point.

the stream is still going into the big rock bath that the moloids pulled the plug on, so tyrannus could just put the plug back and it'd start to fill again if they don't divert the stream dropping a bunch of rocks on his own head is a very nsm way to go about doing that

I remember an episode of teenage mutant ninja turtles where at one point one of the turtles pulls a giant plug out of the sewer to drain away water to take out a bad guy.

Watching random stuff on YouTube with my son, and I saw some animated 60s/70s Spider-Man episodes on there. The one we looked at featured about a minute of panning-over-buildings filler with literally nothing happening, an endlessly repetitive chase scene over abstract backgrounds that looked like Jackson Pollock on an LSD bender, Spider-Man being knocked out by an exploding vibrator - no, I'm not kidding - and our hero spending the rest of the episode (until my son got bored) unconscious. So it's a 100% accurate translation of NSM into another medium. (Also, Spidey refers to himself as a "teenage superhero", but he sounds like a 50-year-old with a 10-packs-a-day habit. Which might explain his dated references to tariffs and the like.)

So, wait, if Kala and the Moloids have the plug that'll drain the Lake of Youth, why did she send Spiderman to block the river? She was just trying to get him out of the way, wasn't she?

What happened to the runoff Fountain of Youth water when the plug was in there? The pool would eventually fill if there's a constant stream, so it must go somewhere. It seems to me there would be a bigger problem with immortal beings trying to take over the surface world with this much eternal-life water running around down in various parts of Subterranea.
