Yes, they get slaves after every battle and it's a fully implemented economic/public order system where you manage which cities get how many slaves.

Oh, right. I guess they decided to do a food mechanic for Skaven to make it a bit more unique from dark elves. Still, if they had a common resource it would've made things interesting from a diplomacy and trade standpoint.

Along those lines, Skaven have their own flavor of corruption, which makes me hope in the revised grand campaign you have more variety with corruption reduction. Having something always reduce chaos, Vampiric and Skaven corruption by 2 is kind of boring compared to playing on the factions weaknesses (like having dark elves get very little chaos corruption reduction, empire/Brettonia being more susceptible to Skaven corruption, dwarves and Lizardmen getting mostly chaos corruption resistance, etc.)

Regarding Dark Elves trading, one thing I had hoped (that they didn't go with, but maybe someday I will mod it) is a Slave mechanic for Dark Elves, Skaven, and eventually Chaos Dwarves.

My idea was that slaves were a unique resource that had various benefits to these factions and could be bartered in diplomacy (so you could sue for peace via massive numbers of slaves, for example, or demand slaves from an ally or something, similar to the 'amber treaties' of wood elves). They would steadily decay as they got worked to death. It would be a unique avenue of trade and diplomacy for these 3 factions.

I'm expecting Chaos Dwarfs to get a more explicit ''slave trade' mechanic since buying endless numbers of slaves and selling various spiky armor to chaos aligned factions is pretty much all they do in lore.

Guy takes Bretonnia. I take Wood Elves. Takes Leouncour on his trusty mount and some Royal Pegasus Knights with 5 units of questing knights, some men-at-arms, a reliquae, mage, a couple of RoR units (including questing knights).

I take a Eagle Glade Lord and an Eagle Life Mage (for The Spell), a Waystalker, three waywatchers, RoR Glade Riders, RoR Wildwood Rangers, and four units of Glade Guard (one RoR).

Game 1 he decides to jump out and chase my Glade Lord - while I've got three units of waywatchers, the RoR Wildwood Rangers, a Waystalker, and the RoR Glade Riders all Vanguard deployed to his flank and rear. One of those huge maps with small deployment zones - allows for easy flank and rear placement. The core of his force slowly moves forward towards my main line of glade guard while my Life mage just non-chalanatly flys around the other flank and hangs out. He's determined to hunt down and brutalize my Glade Lord, and almost nabs her. It strikes me that he's probably to concentrated there to pay attention to the mage who is watching his army slowly march up the field. So I nuke the center of his army containing the biggest concentration of questing knights while trying to angle his lord towards my waystalkers so I can entangle him with the lord and shoot him down - probably assault his peg knights when they try to break the waystalkers with my glade riders and wildwood rangers. Never gets that far, he finally realizes I've nuked his army and just rage quits.

Game 2. Same dude, takes the same army, as do I. This time he's wised up to my mage and kind of hangs back. Since he never actually saw my vanguard hidden units last game I get him to commit to chasing my Lord while he builds up the Entangle ability. As it becomes ready I angle back towards my line and Waystalkers watching (free fire off). His lord and peg knights swoop in, I get him to the point he's ready to turn around, then drop the Entangle. Leouncour snared, Waystalkers open up, Waywatcher opens up with an Arrow, and Glade Lord opens up with an Arrow. He sends his Peg Knights in, they get ambushed by the Glade Riders and Wildwood Rangers and they run off. Leouncour dies before the Entangle wears off. He screams at me in chat and then somehow my connection broke.

It was all pretty sweet.

There's a neat parallel between Norsca and Bretonnia, in that their playstyles have a common ground in venturing out from your homeland to slay evil/sow terror, getting fat stacks from said expeditions, and reinvesting said money into your homeland to get even stronger.

Also it seems AI aggressiveness against Norscan tribes seems to have mellowed out, so I can more or less feel secure at home by keeping garrison buildings up to date on my border settlements and actively being a terror to neighbors so they waste time and men on resettling burned out settlements.

Slayers are amazing at their job which is loving up large units, they aren't good at infantry vs. infantry stuff.

e; bringing 8 units of slayers is pretty dumb, they'll just get chewed up by chaos infantry. Bring a core of ironbreakers and then a few slayers you can throw at cavalry/monsters.

I actually think that what happened there is that the AI saw that the army was in range of two settlements and decided to prioritize defending the other one. I'm guessing that it doesn't 'know' that ritual sites are more important.

If it was trying to avoid the army entirely then it would have hosed off in the other direction.
