Get damage with various ballistic weapons for cbills, basically.

So tell me about Bushwackers, what are good/popular builds. Since they are on sale I might as well grab one.

Also this is the EJ build I use.

It's insanely hot but a 66 damage pinpoint alpha strike is murderous. I sort of want to try swapping out the LPLs for heavy large lasers but that might be taking it to far.

I played the CTF-0XP with the AC20, 4xML build for a while. Currently it's running AC20, 2xSnub PPC because I'm crazy. It tears side torsos off like mad if you can get close enough, but it runs pretty hot.

Sounds pretty reasonable. Ran mine AC20 + 2 LPL deadside before newtech, double snubs sounds like you're trading a little heat for all pinpoint.

HLLs seem better to me. I also use 5 MPLs instead of ERMLs. I use the EBJ-B with the mobility quirks.

The x1 is versatile enough to try a variety of builds. Mines a bit of a brawl build. Not on my computer at the moment, but I run 3x SRM6, 4x LMG, and a SNPPC. Only time I'm staring someone down is when they're stripped

Theres 2 bushwankers you want. 1 has a dead side, 4 lasers and an ac20. That one owns tons of rear end. The other one has 4 machine guns, a couple lasers and something else. Also the bushwanker is nearly loving unkillable. Tis good robbit.

Bushwackers are best with any build that makes you go "gently caress, I can fit that on a medium?!?"
AC20/4ml/deadside. SnPPC/3SRM/4MG. MRM70/2MPL. 3xAC5. 2xAC10+. 3 LPL at 110kph. 6x6SRM. Hell even lrms if you really want to.
gently caress around for 20min with mechlab builds in the store. Find one that makes you laugh maniacally. Buy that.

The new weapons sound...more than the old ones but they have not changed the sound of the existing weapons. Maybe you have the same problem as I do, weapon sounds are like 150% the volume when spectating as compared to when playing yourself.

I'm trying out RACs for the first time for the ballistic challenges and they seem kinda... bad. I can't really see why you would want to use these instead of UACs.

On the other hand a 2x LBX20 Black Widow feels much better than I thought it would be. Even if the damage is spread around you hit out to 400m optimal and you can torso twist like crazy between shots, crit people like mad, oh and no ghost heat so you can shoot forever. I'm spending almost as much on new ballistics as I am making back from the event though.

Russ Bullock posted:

Yeah, in the game you earn resources at a regular pace and the systems are tuned to that so you don't need another option. At the same time, it's there as a player choice. It's there, from my perspective, for people who are protective of their spare time and scared when a massive game comes along that they're not getting to see the full experience.

It's the same design philosophy as us adding in difficulty modes. So we now have Easy mode, and we've added Hard mode at the other end of the spectrum. Frankly the NemesisOmnimech system comes to life when you are dying loads, so you could see Easy mode as a system which makes the game less enjoyable if you are the type of player who really should have put it on Hard. It's putting more control in people's hands - saying, you know how you play best, you make that choice.

The ideal for people who set it to Easy is if they are just finding things too punishing, not because they don't want to die. We'd rather you die regularly to get the full experience of the NemesisOmnimech system.

While I'm not optimistic about MW5, credit where it's due, PGI didn't go the early-access route of getting all their sales early and then never finishing the game. I actually respect the fact that they're willing to just... release a game when it's done.

Axetrain

That was a pretty good sale, picked up 2 Bushwackers, Hunchback IIc, a Marauder and a Mist Lynx on the cheap. Don't have anything left over to actually outfit them properly but at least they're in my hanger. I wish they would do events more often they give me an incentive to play and I like having a mission/reward to go for.

I think that MIGHT be because the last time they tried to go outside the "Make a game and then sell it" route it was for Transverse and they got poo poo on so hard by so many people that they had German porn makers queueing up to film it.
