It enrages me how fat bitches are not being banned for using public transportation services. I couldn't tell you how prevalent it is offline, but there's large swathes of online communities that buy into it. The major belief is that there's no connection between obesity and health and that any opinion to the contrary is a form of fat phobia.

It's not good or healthy, but realize that HAES is basically exclusively women and it's really easy to see how it ties in with the general package of body and image issues women get subjected to.
