I feel like the capital P plan for Puerto Rico is that it drown and burn to open the field for land speculation so outside capital can scoop up the island real estate for pennies on the dollar from desperate people.

he shouldn't, the entire time should be spent shining as bright a spotlight on what republicans are trying to do

that helps single payer as well: republicans are saying it's this or single payer, show people what "this" actually is

The problem with this is that relatively dirt cheap land even on the downtown strip was readily available compared with the Caribbean broadly and people weren't biting. The economy and other factors were just not enticing to the vultures.

Yeah, it seems like Sanders making it all about single payer would feed right into what the GOP wants to do to and make it "This or that thing we say will destroy us!"

Like he should push his agenda but he's gotta make it clear what a damaging piece of poo poo Graham-Cassidy is.

Not tying it to COL is a very good thing for Target employees in low COL areas.

$15 an hour in Bumblefuck, Alabama on a High School degree is a very livable wage and a massive step up from the $7.25 that other retail jobs would be.

A job stocking shelves at Target will literally pay over 100% more than a job stocking shelves at a retailer paying minimum wage in 2020.

I don't get why they think insurance companies would even WANT to do this. What, are California insurers actually going to give the same rates to NY applicants or something? What is this supposed to fix?

IIRC insurance companies would probably want it because it means they can headquarter up in the state with the most pro-insurance protections on the books to the detriment of consumers. It's the same reason why most credit card companies are based out of Delaware, it has the most lax, anti-consumer credit card laws on file.
