I'd put the QM toxicity at maybe 20-30% of games. Much lower than any other MOBA, regardless. I can't recall seeing anyone intentionally feeding there, ever.

Hero League, on the other hand, by all accounts is a dumpster fire.

With that said, playing AI's fine - completely stomping the AI is a blast; though with the XP curve changes from 2.0 it's become a lot more of a grind, especially without stimpacks.

The issue imo is that most people don't want to play support and even fewer want to play tank. I'd rather play an assassin in a 5v5 specialist/assassin game than a tank in a balanced 5v5.

Define the threshold for "intentionally feeding".

Is it:
(A) Walking into tower over and over.

or

(B) Constantly diving enemy teams when down people/levels and then whining when everyone else doesn't do exactly the same.

Because, for me, B sure happens a lot and counts.

If they were intentionally feeding why would they complain about the lack of backup?

B isn't intentionally feeding or being toxic (until they start yelling at the rest of the team), it's just being bad at the game.

But yeah, it happens all the time in QM. And AI, Unranked, and Ranked.

It is, 95% of the time. I'd still take it even vs. a Tassadar, especially since Zera + Tyrande can 100-0 anyone and still get away. All Tyrande has to do is drop a mark + stun, then use the shadow stalk movespeed to GTFO while Zeratul blows person up.

I don't know the rest of the teams but that's not why you won imo.

TL's not that bad if you're playing with people you'd hang out with outside of game, and it has a significant XP bonus to boot.

(Plus you get the season's mount just for showing up and doing 10 placements :v:)

QM is way better than TL for xp/hr even with 5 friends. The horrible TL queues and the fact that only QM has a bonus for wins because :blizzdowns: means that QM is the place to be for MAXIMUM LEWTZ which is why everyone plays it which is why TL has poo poo queues which is why everyone plays QM... ad infinitum.

Dear Blizz, pls implement the win bonus in non-QM modes. Sincerely, loving EVERYONE.

Ya know I'm sitting here eating lunch wondering why HOTS doesn't have a "make me team captain" button like WoW has for dungeons. Too many retards have 0 game knowledge and it would let the good players establish dominance early and prevent things like letting the other team getting garrosh. It would also let the weaker players opt out of taking the job from the hardworking good players.

I'd also like a feature like dota's single draft where someone can suggest 3 heroes and another gets to pick them just like brawl.

Yeah, basically if you try to contest the objective the enemy team will beat you on the teamfight + win the objective instead of just winning the objective while you pick up your heroics. The former is usually something you can't recover from unless the other team decides to throw as hard as possible.

It's funny how Bad Player Problem #1 is "people ignore objectives" and Bad Player Problem #2 is "people contest objectives at the worst possible time".

Had two games last night, the first one was a loss that had people rushing to objectives despite being down 12-16.

The other one we won as we kept the enemy occupied at the Tribute while minions destroyed their core. The tribute score was 0-0.

Haunted Mines triggers something in peoples' brains to contest the final golem no matter what.

You can win 90% of haunted mines games by just getting all the small skulls, soaking lanes, and delaying the enemy team at the big golem during the first spawn while you get a three level advantage 6 minutes into the game.

Suddenly, all the bad people realize that you "have to get golem" and everyone needs to leave lanes NOW!

People get absurd objective-blindness sometimes. What I've noticed is people have no awareness of when to back off an objective. A 5v5 will turn into a 3v5 and still those 3 people will keep sticking their noses in until there's nobody left and now the other team not only has the objective but is up 2 levels on us.

Jesus christ, guys, we can afford to lose a tribute. It isn't the end of the world.

Lawdog69

People love to snowball losing games by contesting objectives while 4v5, no ults vs ults, etc. It's a really good way to make sure you lose the game. Most early game objectives are weaker in terms of siege damage than your team standing in the lanes for 1:00 wailing on the enemy structures uncontested so you can actually come out ahead if you don't all feed into their advantage and hand them 5 kills for dessert on top of the objective. Late game objectives are more important and it might sometimes be correct to take the risk of fighting while disadvantaged, but the first tribute/punisher/spiders whatever of the game is really not that impactful.

This is literally how you win Mines about 80% of the time. Or in ranked both teams realize this and no one hits the golem, then after a random team fight the winning side blitzes the golden to finally finish the objective and add pressure.

Most aggravating Haunted Mines QM game recently:

Kerrigan (me)
Valeera

Tychus
Murky

vs

Sylvanas
Azmodan
Nazeebo
Samuro
Cassia

I didn't even pay attention to the enemy comp until we lost a fort 1:30 into the game. Somehow we ended up winning the 30 minute game thanks to our Valeera getting 25 kills and our Murky 100-0ing every objective after level 20. But holy crap classic Haunted Mines issues.

That's only ever the case in TL for me if I'm playing from 4 AM - 10 AM EST, or if my team is all GM/M with no bronzes to even them out.

Takes another 5 minutes max (usually 1-2) for me to form a 5-person group on Discord. Queues are even shorter for 3-man. Don't 2-man.
