I was in the army with Magnum face dude. He talks with that weird adenoidal voice all the time and is a hardcore libertarian borderline sovcit.

NihilismNow posted:I watched a bunch of those episodes a while ago and one thing that had me worried is this is a military structure built in the 1950's\60's. Is it far fetched to assume it is going to be full of asbestos? And that it will be nicely dispersed by the extensive remodelling. Even if it is, asbestos is only a problem if you breathe it as dust, so if your leaky silo below the water table is damp or full of water then you probably shouldn't have to worry too much about the dust.

Also, asbestos fibres lodged in your alveoli will help to neutralise all the black mould spores you'll be inhaling down there. Asbestos: it's looking after yourself.

I've never been so disappointed to not see a safety railing fall apart and people fall two stories.

reminds me of the time I moved into a condo that was on a 2nd story with a small deck. Someone was throwing out a perfectly disgusting old barcalounger, so i dragged it over to the concrete stairs up to my place. It was too big to carry up the rather steep steps so I just tipped it up and the headrest fit neatly between a couple steps and then i tipped it more and the back legs fit neatly on another and before long I'd rolled the drat thing up the steps to sit by my front door when I moved out a couple years later, I tipped it over onto the steps and it rolled down so quickly that the structure of the chair burst when it hit the ground. the back separated from the recliner parts and lots of particle boards cracked and shattered. it was all in all an excellent investment: minimal effort for maximum enjoyment

I found a website a while back that had Trimet (Portland public transit) light rail and street car accidents on it. I was wondering how common they were, given how timid drivers are here, but you'd be surprised. One guy managed to take his http://www.oregonlive.com/commuting/index.ssf/2014/03/how_do_you_drive_a_car_into_th.html EDIT: Ahah, found it. I forgot about the part where the dude took a tree in the tunnel with him. http://blog.oregonlive.com/commuting/2012/11/trimet_releases_cost_estimate.html ...dumbass.

If that is in a place that has earthquakes then yes. If not then probably.
