Georgia is going to cruise from now until the Florida game and then find a way to lose that by four touchdowns, even when it's virtually impossible for Florida to score four touchdowns.

Tyler Huntley may not be back from an undisclosed injury before the Utes play Stanford in two weeks. Last year's starter, Troy Williams, is still with the team and he looked functional against Arizona. Huntley had fine numbers the first few weeks but none of those games were against remarkable teams. So who knows!

UGA / Tennessee has trap game written all over it. It's another game in a long string of games where UGA should be able to dominate them from the word go, and Butch is going to be coaching shoe his life and I think his players know that.

There's rumors floating around that Butch has already lost the locker room. He basically melted down at his presser yesterday and you can tell he's cracking under the stress. Another rumor is that one of our best DL guys, Shy Tuttle, was injured after a fight in the locker room with a teammate.

Tennessee is gonna get hammered and it will be very bad.

Details per ESPN and the AP

quote:

NEW YORK -- Four college basketball coaches were among those facing federal charges Tuesday in a wide probe of fraud and corruption in the NCAA, authorities said.

The coaches were identified in court papers as Chuck Person of Auburn University, Emanuel Richardson of the University of Arizona, Tony Bland of the University of Southern California and Lamont Evans of Oklahoma State. It was not immediately clear who would represent them at initial court appearances.

They were among 10 people charged in Manhattan federal court. Others included managers, financial advisers and representatives of a major international sportswear company. The details were to be discussed at a news conference Tuesday at noon ET.

Since 2015, the FBI has been investigating the criminal influence of money on coaches and student-athletes who participate in intercollegiate basketball governed by the NCAA, federal authorities said.

They said the probe has revealed numerous instances in which bribes were paid by athlete advisers, including financial advisers and associate basketball coaches, to assistant and associate basketball coaches to exert influence over student-athletes so the athletes would retain the services of those paying the bribes.

In criminal complaints, investigators said basketball coaches have the ability to provide access to the student-athletes to sports agents, financial advisers, business managers and others.

"Moreover, many such coaches have enormous influence over the student-athletes who play for them, in particular with respect to guiding those student-athletes through the process of selecting agents and other advisers when they prepare to leave college and enter the NBA," the complaints said.

"The investigation has revealed several instances in which coaches have exercised that influence by steering players and their families to retain particular advisers, not because of the merits of those advisers, but because the coaches were being bribed by the advisers to do so," the papers said.

Yeah RIP Auburn basketball. It looks like the arrested coach was taking bribes to get players to sign with a specific agent/use a specific clothing maker. He also gave some of this money to players families. I expect the NCAA to come down pretty hard on this part.

One of the marketing guys at Adidas was also arrested, which is kind of lol.

These coaches taking money to violate their players' trust in them as advisers is pretty hosed up. I mean, the players are already being exploited 24-7 by the coaches and the school, but at least stick to the proper channels.

Nebraska named Dave Rimington interim AD; 60-day contract. He was an All-American here in the early 80s (the annual best-center-in-CFB award is named for him); he had been running the Boomer Esiason Foundation. My guess is that he's not really a candidate for the permanent gig, though.

The bigger question is whether he'll have the authority to, um, terminate anyone's contract.

I want him to fire Riley, only for a bunch of wacky hijinks to occur where riley discovers he can't legally do it, and they're trying to trick him out of his position.

The 30 for 30 on it would be great.
