Apart from the front of the sidepod wrapping under, seems like they're very obvious.

Just finished Mid-Ohio. I saw the thing.

Also some of the driver choices are downright weird. Like Pacwest hiring perpertual 12th-16th place finisher Dominic Dobson.

According to Racer's article on Allen McDonald leaving SPM, he hasn't been confirmed yet. But even though McDonald is leaving, there's no mention of where he's going or Hinch going with him, so I doubt there's anything like that going on.

Open to IndyCar switch

Palmer said a move to the American single-seater series IndyCar is among the possibilities he is considering.

"I'm open, it's an option, but outside of F1 there are a lot of places to go and race," he said.

"Indy is one of them, but I'm not saying it's a preferred option or not. It's obviously very different, and requires a lot of thinking."

He added: "At the moment there's no firm plans. Different options, and some that are what I'd rather do."

Despite saying that he would consider a move to the World Endurance Championship as well, Palmer appeared to downplay his interest in making the switch to prototypes.

"I've always said that I prefer wheel-to-wheel racing. I know LMP1 is wheel-to-wheel, but endurance racing is very different," he said.

"Again it's one of the options out there. You have to see what becomes available. But I'd prefer to be racing wheel-to-wheel for position."

Jolyon Palmer is pretty mediocre and not very consistent but him in the IndyCar field he'd probably be a top runner. He's definitely way better than, say, garbage truck driver Esteban Guiterrez.

How did that work out for Rubens? Mid pack in F1 does not automatically = front in Indycar, especially with guys like Dixon around.

Rubens was not a midpack driver. Also he was like 420 years old. Palmer is far worse than he was.

Palmer takes time to adjust to cars he will be lower end of the field but maybe over time build up to be nearer the front.

I would be shocked if he came in and was straight away near the front of the field its just not his mo.

It's possible. This is an open development year for engines, so there's a chance for a decent horsepower jump along with the new aero.
