Feral Pigeons (i.e. your common rear end in a top hat city pigeon) are basically just rats with wings, so if people want to kill and eat them they can go right ahead.

I'm imagining it's hard to get a satisfactory meal in a soup kitchen. Probably enough to sustain yourself, but you'll still have the belly rumbles. I'd probably supplement it with some free and easy vitamin P too. Anyway gently caress city pigeons regardless. They have no fear of man. The giant megapigeons in NYC won't move out of your way on the sidewalk like "go on motherfucker I dare you to step on me".

Assuming there's even a sliver of truth in the article (there probably isn't), they don't give a poo poo about the pigeons. Their concern is that "the unworthy" (homeless, jobless, immigrants, etc) aren't allowed their nose an inch above the mud.

I used to work in a downtown area and I came across bird carcasses all the time which weirded me out, sometimes just bones or even a severed head. Always just assumed it was a whole variety of things like getting hit by cars or feral cats or some lazy person throwing chicken bones on the ground or whatever. Never imagined a ridiculous scenario like that.
