Yeah, I ditched it for that exact reason.

Is there any point to doing the rituals immediately? It seems like my bar still keeps progressing regardless, so I see little reason to spawn stacks of chaos to gently caress up my poo poo when I'm still in the precarious midgame where I'm still barely holding on. Might as well save them all until I'm in steamroll mode, unless I'm missing something.

With Skaven i learnt quickly that i have to raid a lot, not so much for income, but for food. Got 4 full stacks of Skavenslaves raiding everything now so i never go into the negatives. You don't need full stacks obv, but i've found that while extremely cheap an immense wave of Skavenslaves can deal surprisingly well with AI armies.

What's the max level now? It wasn't 30 like i thought it would be.

I know I'm going to seem uncool playing the first game here, but I tried it out tonight. Started up as the Empire and was doing fine in the kinda tutorial vs the Secessionists, but just as I as squaring up to finish them off an Orc army turns up out of the blue and wrecks me. They wander off and raze one of my settlements and the Secessionists sally out to finish my main army off. The next turn 2 hordes of Beastmen turn up and start raiding me. While I try to build a new army the unrest from all this raiding causes a revolt, and when I field my rebuilt army the Beastmen murder it. It, uh, escalated pretty quickly.

I like the concept of the treasure hunts on ruins and "pick one of four things" but they have a flaw which I think will hurt replayability pretty badly, it's pre-fixed what the outcomes are and there is usually a choice where nothing happens, 1-2 where something good happens, 1 where something horrible happens.

Eventually you'll run across the same event and you'll know what the "correct" answer is and pick it, if your new and don't know what the correct answer is you just reload a quicksave.

Top left corner, button farthest to the right. Allows you to adjust camera settings.

As far as I can tell none of these settings actually deal with the camera view. The campaign camera seems incredibly weird to me, like it has a side-on view which when you "zoom" simply gets higher or lower. What I actually want to do is change the camera pitch so I can see stuff from an angle that makes sense, and zoom in and out with that. Is that even possible in this game?

There's a chance that I had some camera mod installed for WH1 so maybe this is how it was by default in the original and you're all used to it. Am I going insane? Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

e: here's what I mean, when zoomed in to such a level that I can see properly, the angle is such that terrain obscures everything anyway. Is this how it's meant to be?

I know they're rats but the Skaven are a bit too drab brown for me - especially next to the bright blues of the Lizardmen. Probably blasphemous but I would like a mod that brightens them up a bit, or at least gives them some more differentiation.

You really can't go wrong with sending a lord to explore the sea for plunder, he'll pay for himself despite the added upkeep penalty, finding stuff like +1500-2500g stockpiles and a -huge- 30% construction cost discount for 5 turns which combined with a second event basically let me upgrade every building to max for barely anything.

To be fair, lizardmen have always been one of the best looking armies in Warhammer

You're playing High Elves I assume? They may have run out of ammo, after which clicking them to attack makes them run in. Witch Elves do have the ability to make troops rampage but unless they were already attacking them in melee it wouldn't trigger.

The fact that high elf colony ruins are a special resource seems to be to be another point in favor of Estalia or Tilea eventually being made into a full faction, for a very simple reason: they were built on top of the largest elven colonies and that influenced them even more than Brettonia.

Skaven campaign getting bit boring. Surprised how well clanrats hold up in battle. Game is easy as f.

Food scarcity is weird and designed to inhibit large skaven empires..which is kind of annoying.

Wow Skrolk is one hell of a fun Lord. Every fight I'm just poisoning everything on the field, churning out an endless pile of line troops and dropping the occasional warp lighting from a grey seer. Any lizardmen that even approach my line just get massacred by a pile of sling bullets or taken out by a million poisoned blades. I was pretty drat skeptical at first as the new start and mechanics kind of threw me off but once you get going it's just nightmarish. Also drat do I love being able to just summon troops on top of ranged units. Those clanrats are going to die but none of those arrows/javelins/whatevers are going to be hitting my monks until they are right up in there. I will say that the autobattle is pretty hosed up. I had a Lizardman lord and a single saurus warrior unit go up against my 3 clanrats, 2 runners and 4 slaves and the autobattle was completely in the lizards favor. I lost 20 or so rats in that battle and would likely have lost most of them in the autobattle.

Yeah, the campaign camera is WAY at a shallower and far worse angle. It's real bad.

I have the game installed on a regular hard drive and it loads like it's on an SSD, holy poo poo they've improved the game. TW1 takes, literally, a few minutes to load.

Game also runs a bit worse on the default settings than the first.

Ladies and Gentlemen, has anyone else notice some crazy load times? Warhams 1 never seemed this slow. Warhams 2 however is quite slow for load times. After loading up my HElf game I need another 30-60 seconds before I can click anything or else the game will freeze, then resume a short time later. Battle load times are easily 1 to 2 minutes.

My PC specs are on the high end, if anyone was going to suggest my precious is not up to par.

I finally took out Krok-Gar as Queek with massed Stormvermin. You just have to accept Queeks bonus and flood the main stack with Halberd Stormvermin. They have like 90 armor and decent AP, along with polearm bonus against any Dinos. I ended up with Queeks stack having ~10 Stormvermin and a few plagueclaws and then basically a full stack on a Grey Seer of Clan Rats. Send in the Stormvermin line first so they can start to wear down the Saurus line and then send in all your Clan Rats around the back. Once the Saurus rampage they can't do much to adjust and you just swarm them.

I'm ~75 turns in as Queek and have entered the "paint the map" zone. You are right though, each settlement costs food upkeep and so do armies, but you don't really gain more food unless you are constantly fighting.
