I worked for an NPR member station until this past summer. The concept that providing information and trying not to be biased about the conclusions you draw from it make both sides hate you, it's just that conservatives are more allergic to facts and thus power the vast majority of complaints to stations. Like it or not, those do have an effect, so ~be the change you want to see in the world~ PS most cities' stations are actually more liberal, but it only shows in their selection of NPR programs and local content if they offer any. And you'd be dumb to exclude Morning Edition or Here & Now.

I mean compared to the current Dem strategy of getting horribly boring and dumb candidates I think there is enough merit in going for thenplot twist: you go for the openly racist fucktard that just happens to be to the left on one issue. it's not like you'll ever win Alabama on a straight dem platform so why not just give them what they want in exchange for one thing of yours. it's all burning down anyways, might as well get creative.
