The initial word I've got from NXT people is that Kyle fears Corporate heat for this. A lot of old Pro Wrestling traditions are overly self-serious and macho but I do think dealing with fans this way should still be accepted public traded or not.

You gotta play a lot of situations by ear obviously, but the guy had no business getting in there and if security wasn't there to stop him then the absolute best thing to do is neutralize the potential threat as quickly as possible.

I can't imagine VKM personally having an issue with it, but yeah, the company line could be completely different. On the other hand, you only have to point to the guy from the Royals who got assaulted about a decade ago. You don't know what kind of poo poo people will pull when they run onto the field/into the ring. Hope it turns out okay for him.

The good/bad thing is that thanks to the passage of time, there will always be a 38 year old indie guy HHH wants to be friends with, so there never will be a Performance Center based champion. Maybe they should make a midcard belt for the developmental talent to contend for.
