I've long since retired and my son's moved away I called him up just the other day I said, I'd like to see you if you don't mind He said, I'd love to, dad, if I could find the time You see, my new job's a hassle, and the kid's got the flu But it's sure nice talking to you, dad It's been sure nice talking to you And as I hung up the phone, it occurred to me He'd grown up just like me My boy was just like me And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon Little boy blue and the man in the moon When you coming home, son? I don't know when But we'll get together then You know we'll have a good time then

Hasn't double-stacking AT mines been a thing for a while? I'm pretty sure I've heard about that before.

I'm confused, is it just a second AT mine under the first one? That's not going to pose any more danger for someone digging it up than one would since they need like hundreds of pounds of pressure to go off. If it was an antipersonnel mine wouldn't have it gone off more or less immediately unless it was a dud? Double stacking would just make the mine ~twice as powerful when a vehicle rolled over it right? I don't really see what they're running from in the video though. my kinda ape fucked around with this message at 20:07 on Oct 1, 2017 |

You see that flap sticking up out of the dirt? That's an anti-tamper device linked to another explosive beneath. You can see it flip up briefly in the video. The weight of the mine above keeps the spring under the flap depressed, but when lifted the flap comes up and boom.

So when you wash out of Alfa Group's selection, does someone wash your brains off the ground or are you expected to do that posthumously?

You know... that doesn't seem too crazy (it's still a wee bit crazy), assuming that the shooters involved are actually competent and well-trained (and have certainly rehearsed that performance). We're fairly risk-averse here as a byproduct of an rear end-covering environment, and average Joe infantryman would never in a million years be trusted to do that. The part that really concerns me about that whole video is that they're doing it in front of a crowd, who are almost certainly not wearing any protective gear. I'm more concerned about them getting hit by shrapnel than the guy wearing armor getting hit with pistol rounds.

I'm sure the SAS have a hostage training room where they come in with live ammo and pew pew the things whilst real people are sat in the room. I may be talking bollocks but I seem to remember some quite expensive football players being in the room at one point. Yep, thought so

Someone post that part in the movie Navy SEALs where Michael Biehn is talking to the reporter and then his team comes in and shoots targets all around her to show off how badass they are

I can't tell if the dude getting shot in the leg was actually being hit in a protective armor pad or actually being hit in the leg. I'm sure bandaging him could have been part of the drill, but he reacted a lot like a dude who just took a 9mm to the thigh.

Delta will do livefire with their dudes in the room as well, which is probably something Charlie Beckwith picked up from SAS https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vzHqqTmSnC0&t=133s
