Its decent, better if you can position it kind of centrally in the room. We have ours pretty close to a wall out of necessity and its still OK, but is better when I move it out to the center of the nearby table once in a while.

I live with roommates and keep mine in my bedroom, but when I had a party I brought it out into the living room/dining room area and it was more than loud/clear enough to entertain everyone. People really got a kick out of something as simple as asking it to play different songs. I get the impression that *most* people do not use or rely on voice assistant on their phones (because most people use an iPhone and Siri is garbage).
