Haifisch posted:2003 Spiderman No, you dolt, it's supposed to make you feel worse. And directors in this universe really need to stop shooting movies with hidden cameras. This is not the first time its been demonstrated that Newspaper Spider-Man can't tell the difference. If Gunther advises her to be chill about her dad dating and at least give the girlfriend a chance I am going to sue Team Evans for the severe ocular damage that will result from rolling my eyes too hard. GoComics Commentariat are predicting that the girlfriend will be Anne Eiffel. I doubt it, myself. They were wrong about her running the body mod convention Luann and Dez went to, but she is still floating around unused in the plot ether so we'll see.

So over at Strippers' Guide, a blog dedicated to obscure newspaper strips, they posted samples of a strip from 1960 called "The Late, Late War". I didn't think much of it until I saw the byline: Yes, this is the same Fred Fredericks who drew "Mandrake" for decades. He had several other comic strips throughout his career, but this one stuck out because it's much more cartoony than anything else he's done. You can read more about it here

I don't know if this is a joke about poor dentistry, or a joke about a soldier being so young that his adult teeth haven't fully grown in yet. Either works for the setting.
