One of the local churches was struck by lightning and it actually severed the lightning rod on the roof in half. (For your 'angering god' joke pleasure, the roof was also badly damaged by hail. On the other hand, they were already planning to start raising money to have work done just because it was 15 years or so old, and now insurance will cover a lot of that...)

At least for the "let's shoot the targets that people are holding" and shooting at each other I hope they're using Simunition or something similar. They're low velocity plastic bullets that have enough energy to punch holes in paper at close range, but won't do more than sting a little if you hit someone with a few layers of clothing over.

there was some miserable show called bering sea gold and it was about these people who live on the alaska coast and try to scrape enough gold out of the ocean to live a marginal existence through the long alaskan winter. everyone had these homemade gold dredges and most of them involved divers vacuuming silt off the ocean floor but the big dogs in town had a barge with a backhoe that would scoop up silt and dump it in a machine to shake out the gold, they often ended up paddling the barge around with the backhoe as well. so if you want to watch a whole bad show about this concept its out there other highlights included a young woman who lived with her dipshit boyfriend in a yurt on the beach. in alaska. the producers of the show were trying real hard to turn her into some kind of eye candy appeal for the show, but their dredging attempts were always hilarious failures. her dad lived in a bus behind someone's house. everyone was an alcoholic boner confessor fucked around with this message at 19:01 on Oct 4, 2017 |

That guy who got shot in the leg reacted in such a way that I'm not 100% sure the bandaging afterward was part of a demonstration...

If I remember correctly the girl with the loving dipshit boyfriend went on her own. Also her dad was a somewhat successful small time miner but lost his mind. There was a season where the producers had her bring some friends from back home to mine (or be the eye candy) - it was a winter season so diving through ice holes and I think it nearly ended badly. I loved that show.

We have actually practiced the crossover at the beginning of the video (although we weren't firing, just passing in front someone holding a hallway) and the high/low at 1:20 with simunition. Given the volume level, the recoil, and the muzzle flash, it sure looks like live rounds in the rest of the video, which is just pure insanity.
