You should also watch/read Yu Yu Hakusho if you haven't, which is complete and by the same guy who does Hunter x Hunter.

Zoro posted:I'll check it out. I've seen it before but I've never watched it. If I recall correctly, isn't it constantly on hiatus? It does take a lot of breaks but there's still a lot to read and the arc prior to the current arc also serves as a pretty good ending on its own (in fact, the newer anime picked that as its ending point).

Soul Eater is a good option. I'd recommend Tripeace as well, which is relatively short.

Zoro posted:I didn't see a place to ask for recommendations so I hope it isn't rude to ask for any here. I've been out of the manga seen for the while outside of Dragon Ball super and the occasional Watamote and Jitsu Wa. I'll second Soul Eater, though the beginning has quite a fair bit of fan service. You might enjoy Twin Star Exorcists, it has awesome character designs and art. Also surprised nobody has mentioned Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer (Hoshi no Samidare) yet.

I don't see One Punch Man or Mob Psycho 100 on there, so definitely check those out if you haven't. Helck is also really good, even if it kind of gets a bit weaker later on. There's a recommendation thread somewhere that'll probably give you some more stuff. I'd link it, but I'm on my phone right now. AnoHito fucked around with this message at 01:42 on Oct 6, 2017 |

... is hoshi no samidare a battle manga? Also, seconding all those recommendations. Thirdly: tiny, vicious senpai is the best "can't study" girl.

I've also read some of Helck, but I do agree that that series is a real March series, in like a lion, out like a lamb. Julias posted:I'll second Soul Eater, though the beginning has quite a fair bit of fan service. I've also seen Soul Eater the anime, but never finished it or the manga. Just kind of lost my attention. Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer sounds cool, though. The plot description for TSE isn't grabbing me, though. DoubleDonut posted:You should also watch/read Yu Yu Hakusho if you haven't, which is complete and by the same guy who does Hunter x Hunter. I saw that back when it aired on cartoon networks. Thanks to my insomnia, I even saw the ending. Fellow 00s kids know what I mean. Rodenthar Drothman posted:Starry-eyed, shouty answer: Black clover Just looking at GIS, Black Clover reminds me a lot of Naruto. Don't know if good or bad. Shut Hell sounds weird. Might pick up the first volume and see how it is. Wark Say posted:Serious Answers: Kengan Ashura, Hunter x Hunter I remember reading Medaka Box first volume, but it didn't seem like a battle manga.

Is Negima as pervy as I assume? I found it on comixology and it was listed as a battle manga, but I saw was made by the guy who did Love Hina, a romantic comedy that I regret liking as a child. And I also saw that there's a lot of underage characters. So, is it as terrible as I think it is? Because the preview images didn't look so bad but they probably avoided putting that stuff in the preview.chumbler posted:Medaka Box shifts pretty dramatically after like chapter 20. That sounds like a Superman leap to go from " helping School errand of the week" to " I am the hope of the universe, I am the answer to all who cry out in pain!" But, I guess it happens. Negima became a full on battle manga after the 3/4th volume when they went to Kyoto. It never abandons its fanservice gags, but it becomes a lot less common

If you remember how love hina was in its final arcs in the manga, it's like that only fully embracing the battle aspects
