 i don't think it's a good strategy to assume people will flip this way or that. i was at an organizing workshop last weekend and they had this thing you <---- inactive sympathizers <---- centrists <---- inactive sympathizers <---- them point being you plan a strategy to move everything left. the inactive sympathizers become active supporters, the centrists become inactive sympathizers etc. etc. etc. and the point isn't to convince the enemy on the opposite that they're wrong, but to get them in a place where they're not active (though they still hate you). thus, the fact that many nazi sympathizers on the right moved to the "both sides are bad" centrist middle post-charlottesville is a positive sign. and it's not inevitable centrists will go right. To convince centrists to flip you only have to convince them you are here to restore stability and prosperity. It's easier for Fascists to do overall, but not impossible for the left to accomplish either, it's why Charlottesville was big because the nazi's failed to make centrists feel secure, and it's why they're trying to constantly organize around a veneer of respectability because image means a lot to a centrist. It's also why the right and fascists want to "trigger" people publicly and then rightly or wrongly accuse them of being "the left". Our nazis and right are doing an unspeakably, and unusual good job of looking like lunatics though.

President Cruz is all of the bad things of Trump being in charge minus the staggering incompetency. We got lucky.
