Nick doesn't just hurt the show in the US, it hurts the show worldwide since my understanding from talking to people on other continents is that it goes on hiatus there, too. Possibly whatever viewers you lose in the US by dropping traditional cable (and come on, really?) you'd gain more abroad. PR is an American produced show while Ladybug is French so if they were totally fine with dropping the US broadcaster since ultimately, they're beholden to their French audience. The US audience is just extras from the ability to license. I dunno how PR/Sentai works outside the US after the reacquisition, especially since Korea just produced their own sequel to Kyoryuger via a Korean company who holds the Korean Licenses to PR/Sentai with cooperation with Toei. The situation may have changed.

A few months ago while on vacation, I decided to try and watch some Mighty Morphin Power Rangers on Netflix with my cousin. We agreed that there was plenty to laugh at, but that the sum of the parts wasn't great, particularly in the pacing department! Since then, I've been working to fix that by condensing each episode into a five-minute affair on average, preserving all of the best action and the "best" acting. Until now I'd been posting it in the Tokusatsu thread down in animetown, but I have now been made aware of this thread. You can find it here, but be forewarned that I was working with really lovely and inconsistent quality rips up until episode 12, so you may or may not want to skip to that episode. Enjoy!

On the topic of PR podcasts, does anyone listen to Ranger Danger or The Morphin Grid? I started listening to both when the movie came out, expecting that I would eventually drop one, but that hasn't occurred because the hosts and tone of both are compelling as hell. (plus, they are at max an hour long, I don't know if I could tolerate 2h podcast episodes...)

Somebody mentioned Ranger Danger earlier this spring. I tried two episodes and the audio quality is terrible, which is a deal-killer for me. One of the episodes was Gold Rush and they went "well I guess this show is going off the air for a number of months" when I realized that Nick is not just bad for US viewership, it's apparently damaging everywhere. Sounds pretty unappealing when I put it that way but they're mostly charming, nice boys and girls.
