how is he rewarded? how is he perceived? well after he died, most readers felt a twinge of sympathy for him, but felt it was really "creepy" what he did. lily was dead and didn't want him when he was alive, so what a creep for obsessing over her for decades like that! also he didn't do anything photogenic because he was ugly and out of the spotlight, lol james is handsome though! the most heroic guy in the book by miles is shunted to an ignominious death, his morality debated using dredged up facts from his childhood like his racism or whatever nonsensical poo poo, while the chad who did practically nothing in the book other than get killed early on and never had to suffer an ounce of pain that the incel had, is lionized and doted upon in loving memory because we love what is beautiful, what is beautiful was made for us to be loved.
what i found particularly funny is that jk rowling evidently was familiar enough with this entire dynamic to depict everything in her book very realistically in my mind, but in interviews she adamantly rejected the notion that snape was some kind of hero. rather, she took on the infuriating normie position that he was ultimately just a creep who happened to do a few good things. now, what this tells me is very important. it's not that normies don't perceive reality (as in things that transpired) in the same way we do. because they do, subconsciously, nailing even the little details about snape and james that made harry potter, to me, such a great illustration of lessons from incel. it's that they perceive all these things, down to a micro-level, but in their shallow peabrains, they manage to rationalize it as something else entirely. it's a willful ignorance that makes me hate them all the more.
