It's literally the primary locus of financial capital in the country, and arguably the entire world - and the firms which manage those trades and accounts wield immense power. quote:No the Symbol is Wall Street, it's always been Wall Street, not New York as whole. Literally over a century of Socialist slogans against Wall Street and and not New York. Christ the only people that use New York as a while as a negative are Right Wing Assholes like Ted Cruz. And yet New York also wields immense cultural influence because of the dominance of its publishing, music, film, and television industries. That's what was originally brought up about the fact that a good 1/3 of media produced in this country is all about New York City, which the rest of the country is justifiably resentful of. There are historical and material reasons for that dominance, but rather than engage with that kind of material analysis you'd rather pretend that we're attacking New Yorkers rather than the capitalist system that so heavily invests into New York as a projection of the entire country. You may as well be trying to argue that nobody ever has to move to Los Angeles or Las Vegas to make it in showbusiness, because anybody can be a youtube star or join a theater troupe.

You want to use right wing arguments that attack New York that's on you, especially if you want to use the Alt-Right culture is everything argument. Which is it, do rural people hate New York because Wall Street or because they get mad that media doesn't depict their Christian values enough? Let alone that this argument also included the old argument of those urban North Easteners just don't know how to represent the needs of Rural people. New York based media doesn't even accurately reflect the lives or values of New Yorkers. It's all about rich people or being in showbusiness, when it's not some kind of police serial or crime thriller. It isn't a right wing argument to resent an overwhelming reinforcement of bourgeois values and the supposed necessity of their police state. Generally though, having one single city being the face of America to the world is inherently problematic regardless of whether you're left or right wing. Especially as that city is being slowly transformed into an exclusive playground for the rich and well connected. A process that has been ongoing since the late 70s. You need to quit taking this all so personally. KomradeX posted:As of if there were no local banks that foreclosed on people or illegally foreclosed on people you might have a point. Yeah the problem is not the location it's the class of people but you keep changing the argument. Is it that rural people resent New York because it's over represented in media, or because the media class are upper class scum, pick an argument. Oh no one of the most densely populated places in America has a higher concentration of wealth. Abe yes is a symbol, christ most of the day to day to work work is in Connecticut. You could burn Wall Street to the ground and their wealth will be okay because the servers aren't even in the city. Yeah New York is a victim of capitalism where everyday people are being pushed out. To act as if it's some imperial entity controlling all of America against the will of people is attributing to a geographical location some special unique power of capitalism.

It literally directs the greatest share of American capital, even against the will of its own residents. It's baffling how much this is bothering you. New York is not a victim of capitalism, the city profits more than any other from its regular functions - it's New Yorkers who are its victims and everyone else by extension from that center of power.

The Komen CEO salary in 2010 was $459,406 a year.[36] Komen paid founder and CEO Nancy Brinker $417,712 in 2011.[37] After the Planned Parenthood controversy, donations dropped and the foundation canceled half of its fundraising 'Race for the Cure' events, but Brinkler received a 64% increase to $684,000 annually, which drew fire and was considered "extremely high" according to Charity Navigator's CEO.[38] The organization reported that its CEO earned $483,483 of compensation during 2014 on its annual return to the Internal Revenue Service.[2] The organization also reported 13 other employees who each earned more than $175,000 of compensation, bonuses, retirement benefits, and other benefits during 2014.[2] lol e: This pay package is way outside the norm. It's about a quarter of a million dollars more than what we see for charities of this size. This is more than the head of the Red Cross is making for an organization that is one-tenth the size of the Red Cross. — Ken Berger of Charity Navigator, a group that evaluates and rates charities[118] we're only giving you 3 out of 4 stars now H.P.
