I have a friend who's teaching freshman composition right now. This friend gave students a writing assignment that required a minimum of 800 words.

Some kid ran out of poo poo to say so they just started writing commentary in between paragraphs in white text, so it adds to the word count but is invisible to the reader. Stuff like "oh god i am so bored with this poo poo can i stop now", etc., until it was the required length.

She only caught the student because he misspelled some stuff in white text, so there were red squiggly lines in Word just sorta floating out in space.

bonus: it was a paper on the idea that millennials are lazy

My sister supervised an exam where one paper turned in was all "I literally have no idea about any of this I don't even know why I took Latin who takes Latin oh god she's looking at me with an approving smile because I'm writing this poo poo while everyone else is scratching their heads she thinks I'm really good at all this Latin poo poo why don't I just walk out why can't I bring myself to publicly admit defeat oh well I'll just keep doing this for a � hour and then turn it in and quickly walk out and head straight to Imaamin Keinutuoli to get hammered I don't think I'll ever set foot in the Classics department again maybe I'll quit Humanities altogether so I don't bump into that exam supervisor in the elevator or something have I already gone a full page oh wow" and so on and so forth.

Yeah, because all that water was held over the surface of the entire floor, supported by undamaged joists.

The guy doing the renos was going to have a heavy tub over the cut joists, and stones too if I recall, and filled with water all that weight would be concentrated in one spot.

Iirc it was just a normal house that was gonna get torn down anyway, so the production paid to have fun with it for a month or something. At least the Danish version of the show was done like that.

Nah, old norwegian houses are usually built small with many small rooms and heavy lumber, this makes for a strong house that is supposed to survive hurricanes and heavy snow.

Every season they buy a new crappy old house that is probably getting demolished anyway and at the end they burn it down in a controlled fire.
