Is it as easy as that though - will any momentary arcade button do it? I was just googling and found a Harmony Central thread which ended with people arguing whether to use 'normally open' or 'normally closed' buttons... http://www.harmonycentral.com/forum/forum/guitar/acapella-130/1879896-/page2

technically either works depending on how you wire it. the nc switch is simpler- you're just cutting the hot signal the downside is it's basically just unplugging the guitar so you still have a hot signal going to the amp from the end of the instrument cable i.e. you can still get some hum or other noise with a no switch you're shunting the hot signal to ground, but it causes a pop, so you need to wire in a large value resistor, which some people think affects the tone

When I had it installed he told me that the Switch wouldn't work, because the Switch is naturally off (it only sends input when it's pressed) so you'd have to hold the button to have the guitar make any sound, we opened up the Buckethead LP to see how it's wired or if the switch is different and found that it's the same exact Switch but it's not wired like you'd think. A regular killswitch is wired up to just cut the signal but on the Buckethead LP it's wired to the volume knob's low end, so it's not killing the signal at all but rather instantly "turning the knob to 0." We wired up the Steinberger the same way and there's no humming or pops when using it. Pretty clever. Rugoberta Munchu posted:I love the feeling of knobs digging into my thigh. So a bit of news from synthland: DIY Synthesizer company Synthrotek thought it'd be funny to make a meme picturing Harvey Weinstein saying BUY MORE SYNTHS and when called out about it he doubled-down on rape jokes being super cool. This, in turn, caused an even stronger backlash that has forced him/Synthrotek to "close permanently." In the end he laughed it all off saying he's a trust-fund kid and he'll be fine. https://www.reddit.com/r/synthesizers/comments/76zb1l/synthrotek_makes_rape_jokes_on_social_media/ Sorry for reddit source, I couldn't directly link to the facebook shitstorms.

Albert King was first-rate everything. There was this fifties-style diner in the town where I went to college, and I was in there a decent amount because it was a good place to get a burger and a shake and chat with your friends---i.e., it wasn't one of the bars, which were all horrifyingly apocalyptic. Because I'm the kind of nerd I am, as soon as I got in there, before I picked up my menu, I was loving with the jukebox controls at my table. And gently caress all that corny-rear end "It's My Party" and "Purple People Eater" poo poo, I made a beeline for the one CD all the way in the back of the thing, a Stax-Volt compilation. "Crosscut Saw" was the first thing I put on, nearly every time. also, in that video, I love how at 25:40, SRV is playing but the cameraman just stays on King for a bit. Knows where his bread is buttered.
