I like cookies.
Got adopted by a cat tonight. Walked outside to smoke a cigarette, got followed back in the house by a cat that's been hanging around the neighborhood for a good while.

She's currently fast asleep in our guest room. I'm mildly allergic, we don't really have anywhere to put her, and we have guinea pigs in our bedroom, but I can't bring myself to put her back out on the street. She was so hungry.

Do I buy a set of deep well impact sockets or a set of wera screwdrivers? Both are around $35ish, I have no deep well impacts in metric at all but I don't need them that often, the screwdrivers I do have are 15+ year old Stanley and Craftsmen ones that have been used as prybars enough that they aren't straight anymore. Both will prove useful for upcoming car tasks too. The screwdrivers for bodywork on my car that I keep putting off and the impact sockets for a buddy's suspension job.

Get the screwdrivers, have the buddy buy you the sockets in exchange for your labor.

Good for you though, been there done that. As long as you are in no hurry to sell you can afford to tell people to gently caress off if they are being a pain in the rear end. It will sell.

I love people that show up with cash in hand the first time, I've sold cars within a few minutes of them showing up and driving the car around the block it's awesome. Once I had a guy buy a car over email by pictures, then have a shipping company pick it up, that was the easiest sale ever.

Yeah, it was my mistake for accepting the offer without any money in hand, That won't happen again.

Jesus was a great guy and all, but I'm not sure he's up on car values. Or did you mean Jesus? A lot of Puerto Ricans really dig these rotaries.

I've apparently been waiting my whole life to see that. I know 10-year-old me wondered what would happen if...

I've done that before - labor in exchange for keeping the specialized tools. I have a transmission jack because of that. Well, *had* - it got stolen. I have a different one now.

edit: I'm not pissed off any more. The Aussie burnout vids posted in the FB group, leading to others, has calmed the rage. Off to bed, then, I guess. See you guys in the morning.

Said buddy is there about 85% of the time I work on my car to help when I need someone to go full florida man on a bolt and tends to help me out with non car stuff anyways. Like the free queen box spring and bed frame he hooked me up with this week in exchange for helping him take an old big screen crt tv to the dump. He gets free labor, anyone else, yeah I'd say gently caress 'em they can pay. :v:

Edit: but gently caress it, ordering weras anyways. I can make do with an extension.

Good choice. Stanley screwdrivers are pretty crap and need regular replacing anyway. I did without metric impact sockets until I needed to do a BMW suspension rebuild, so unless you are planning on that right now on your own BMW, you can put off the metric impact sockets. If your buddy needs them then they can buy them.

Eh, I have the suspension on his rx8 and my mazda 6 planned for the next 6 months unless I stumble backwards into a S5 NA FC for under 2k somehow. But I've probably got a month or so before worrying about that tbh.

Wera stuff is niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice, man. I assembled 4 giant subs and 4 tops using a million screws as well as doing other poo poo work with their extra hard bit sets and I managed to trash only one PZ2 over the course of maybe 3 years. Them shits are magic. Pricey but so worth it.

Haha, thanks all ya'll! He's actually being a fairly good boy, only screaming bloody murder when the soft one with the milk doesn't react fast enough or when the smelly one with the scratchy chin takes off his pants at 3am and repeatedly wipes his bum with a cold cloth. It is a change though, for sure. I have four weeks off with him now, which is pretty nice.

Yeah, that also blows my mind a bit. And agreed, it's about time we tune that motor and teach him a bit about opposite lock.
