Meanwhile, Ava's Demon is picking up steam again, and it looks like it's time for our favorite game—picking on Gil.

So apparently Chris Hastings of Dr. McNinja fame has started a Patreon for a bunch of comic series he's started posting on twitter: Monday: Magical Merlin - "Kooky wizard shenanigans" https://twitter.com/hastingsfunnies/status/912358869883596801 Tuesday: Queen of Clubs - "James Bond with a dash of Mary Worth" https://twitter.com/hastingsfunnies/status/918221495305981952 Wednesday: Asimov's Laws - "Robots and murder!" https://twitter.com/hastingsfunnies/status/912868313327456257 Thursday: Karate Sewer Gator - "Dumb dumb dumb" https://twitter.com/hastingsfunnies/status/921080335538053121 Friday: Woodsman! - "Mark Trail + Predator" https://twitter.com/hastingsfunnies/status/913599988453789696 Suffice it to say, I was a big fan of Dr. McNinja so I'm looking forward to seeing where he takes these.

I'm really happy to learn he's making comics that I can go read now, but Twitter is the worst possible place to post comics. When I click to focus on an image it usually gets smaller.

This is asinine- doesn't he still have the doctor McNinja website? I realize this is a new set of series but it seems like a waste to not utilize it

I deeply appreciate Astral Aves' approach to basically everything, but I have to say that I feel like it's reaching some kind of Critical Nasuverse Point where everybody is such a refuses-to-do-things-correctly weirdo that I can't actually remember what the correct way to do things is.

is there anywhere that's actually decent to post webcomics on anymore? i used to use smackjeeves and it was pretty good but i never see smackjeeves comics linked to nowadays. the best place for me was, tragically, deviantart - easy arrow-key navigation and when you clicked on a comic page it got big and you could read the text and then save it to your computer if you liked, unlike tumblr and twitter where clicking on an image sends you down a chaotic rabbit hole of arbitrarily shifting dimensions and then you can't get back home until you slay a mythical beast with many heads

Comic Fury apparently has free unlimited hosting, no ads and allows you to use your own URL. I don't recognize a single title in their popular section, but it looks a lot like a less poo poo Drunk duck. Also while googling for this site I discovered that Ryan Schomer at some point registered 'webcomic.com' and it links to his lovely D&D comic. Stay classy, Rayne.

I know that using these big social media sites is an easy path to get stuck on for budding artists who don't really want to go through the effort of figuring out web design and domain hosting, but Chris Hastings hit the big time, and he's a veteran from way back in 2004, it feels kind of regressive to forego a website like that. Is this just the way the internet is going where people may not even use browsers, just the aps for their preferred social media sites?

Red Metal posted:well at least tumblr lets you tag things so you can read all of a single comic in a row, right? It relies on the poster to apply accurate tags to the posts. It looks like he has not done that yet, but it's still early enough that he might realize that he should do that and tag the comics that have already been posted and then continue to do that indefinitely. If consistent tags have been applied, then it's pretty easy to see all the posts with a given tag on a given blog. You can even do this in chronological order, not just reverse chronological, I'm pretty sure.

Funny anecdote, back when the CAD mock thread was a thing, I thought it'd be a good idea to register an account on the CAD forums for some reason. I don't remember why, probably safari related, whatever. Anyway, i registered under the same as here and immediately got banned by the mods doing new user authentication for having the name of a trademarked product as my username. So yeah. In hindsight, it was probably for the best.

I have a mirror on Tapas, it's okay but it's a very self contained ecosystem. I have my own hosting for my comic and I'll put update posts with previews on my Twitter /Tumblr and a link to the update on the site. Basically my thinking is make it easy for people to know when there's an update and how to find it, I still keep an rss feed too. Or did, when I still updated. Lol.

buy your own website with cheap hosting, sites aint that hard to set up. fans of star trek and moms all did it constantly in the 90s and now theres tools so easy that any dummy anywhere can do them e: also your website and comics will be less likely to die when venture capital runs out and google and amazon realize they are suspended in midair over the grand canyon and the effects of gravity begin to take place, so to speak

Meanwhile, the creator of Not Drunk Enough has announced his transition, and shall henceforth be known as Tess Stone, presumably because he is a glutton for punishment and wants to be greeted with Hanna Is Not A Boy's Name references for the rest of his natural life. (I suppose if people will never stop asking you about a thing you may as well integrate it into the core of your public persona.)

Google and Amazon, suffering catastrophic losses in the Super Great Depression 64 DX and Knuckles, are bought out by Skynet. The only difference we notice is that you can look at weird porn and buy action figures before the Terminator crushes your skull.
