Discendo Vox posted:Please feel free to look up the controls for X-Men: Madness in Murderworld. Now, that was the era of responsive, intuitive control design. The first Pirates of the Caribbean game also had a weird-rear end default control scheme. Control the view with your mouse, left click to walk forwards, right click to walk backwards, shift to attack, space to block, q to shoot your pistol. It was like somebody looked at the classic wasd+mouse scheme and just decided to randomise all the functions.

I used the arrow pad and some combination of ZXC, CTRL, ALT and SPACE straight through Quake. When Unreal came out, I graduated to using the numpad, with the mouse on my left hand, and started adding binds to the math keys for 'flashlight' and 'reload' and 'whatever'. It took forever for me to finally move over to WASD.

there was a design consistency in the late 80's/early 90's when games were still trying to figure out how to deal with the concept of the mouse as a peripheral where they didn't quite understand that people could use both simultaneously. so a lot of games tried to do it where if you were using a mouse you had to use as few keyboard commands as possible, and if you were using a keyboard the mouse was non functional

I like the way the controls are inverted for the keyboard but not the mouse, which if anything is exactly the wrong way round for a flight game.

Crush Crush doesn't have any sex scenes, ironic or otherwise. It's an idle clicker game where each girl is introduced with a short little cutscene showing how you ruined their lives and then you have to work your way into their graces by doing a lot of clicking and watching meters fill up. It's a pretty obvious parody of dating sims and is pretty dumb aside from the joke character that is just a grizzly bear.

I've never played this thing, but the wiki for this game (of course it has a wiki) describes sex scenes for each of the romance candidates -- just a paragraph or so, but definitely not joke sex scenes. Is that crazy-rear end wiki fanfiction?

I looked this up because I don't value my time, and it's the standard Steam situation where they exist but you have to either get the game from somewhere else or download a patch from the web to get to them.

There was, regrettably, an update which added nudity and sex to a premium version of the game. The free version remains wonderful since I can romance a photorealistic bear. Named "Bearverly". edit: I appreciate that the more sexualized characters are constantly mocking the player- "that movie date cost you a million dollars? How hosed up is this game's economy!?" I think Epic's licensing terms used to be much less favorable to indie development, but while UE4 isn't as ubiquitous as Unity, it's used in far too many low-budget games for a fee that high to be plausible.
