I've never bothered to watch the other Mad Max movies either, but from what I understand of them, they would probably equally bore me. I cut out where they had driven the semi into the canyon, and at that point it had been a solid 45 minutes of "fight fight fight while escaping captors", and I just didn't care anymore.

You should at least give the first Mad Max a go as it's a proper 70s revenge tale. Takes a little bit to get going but it does a lot of world building so you understand how everything is hosed up in that universe.
