Shortly after Charlottesville there were a few people on alt-right twitter who started calling Spencer and Aleksandr Dugin (because there's a fairly obvious connection there, Spencer being married to Dugin's daughter) out as being Soros-funded malicious actors. Dunno why it's always Soros, but there has definitely been a lot of grumbling about Spencer on the alt-right.

Freep has been bitching about Soros for ages, as have the general tea party morons. When SA trolled Tea Party Community off the web in early 2013, they claimed that Soros was funding us. I’m sure it goes back wayyyy further though, some of these people haven’t learned anything new since the late 90’s.
