Wrist Watch posted:If that's directed my way, it's the webcomic part that confuses me. Well that issue applies to action comics as well. I guess people go away for a while and catch up all in one go? I guess if I was doing it I would certainly try and get through the entire, ahem, scene in one or two updates, even if I had to call a hiatus to make it work. I think OOTS had multiple fight scenes that went on for longer than a year and that's why I dropped it.

Wrist Watch posted:I can see people enjoying it during an archive binge or something but that sounds miserable to sit through, especially given that the comic appears to have an actual story it's trying to tell that apparently constantly gets put on hold for a month or two so people can gently caress. Well I mean you could use the same argument for any action heavy scene lasting longer than four pages or so.

An action heavy scene with events unfolding is not the same thing as a sex scene, sorry. In an action heavy scene individual pages can still stand on their own to an extent, and even when things get bogged down like Fangz mentioned events are still occurring. Pages in a sex scene are too linked intrinsically to do that. The story is literally coming to a halt for weeks.

A big action scene getting broken up and taking weeks to resolve is different. Nobody is sitting there edging furiously to a big superhero fight scene (one hopes)

well there's about twenty characters all having a spectacular wuxia battle and in the middle of it all is a sad balding middle-aged nerd humping a pillowcase full of wheat. this goes on for a thousand pages and then it ends with a brief retelling of the scorpion parable

I have an idea for a pornographic comic that is also a newspaper comic so it takes months to get to a sex scene that lasts even more months usually all three panels at a time and really little, like bazooka joe sized comics being printed in your newspaper because the only way the newspaper can get away with it is if the comics are printed too small for old ladies to read.

Before he did Undertale, Toby Fox apparently did some music commissions, and Mary asked for a battle theme for her Kiwi Blitz comic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a3wuSl7wUww

Yeah, Toby Fox's music there was described by GGDG as perfectly descriptive of every Nightmare Knight fight until our story's incarnation. Or something along those lines. It's great. (and he also wrote something as Noisemaster theme music which is pretty perfect).

Ava makes a pretty good argument for why she was justified in killing all those people—or at least why nobody on this particular spaceship gets to be all judge-y.

Yeah, the cat's out of the bag and that part of the plot is going to be able to move forward now. Blue Boy's reaction should be nice, he already had a breakdown and now he can put 2+2 together and guess the nature of his invisible girlfriend. And I'm still amused by Ava having a chest of drawers. It's just such a terrible visual pun. I don't even know if it's intended.

Ava's Demon took a long break for a big end-of-chapter animation and apparently some kickstarter book stuff but now it's back in full-swing (for a given value of 'full-swing').
