BTW: not only did they not show multiplayer in the keynote demo, but it was also designed so that nearly no physics whatsoever affected the game. The very few times they could have affected it badly, they actually did (the speedbike - Nox I think? - bouncing right into the air). So they removed the three things they can't get right since five years: multiplayer, physics, gamedesign/mechanics, and simply reduced it to showing of visual tech (which sometimes looked even impressive).

CIG have modified the design to keep it in line with their overall "Which end is the front?" philosophy.

Don't forget, in order to see that much fidelity, you are going to need an extra special Intel fairydust SSD.

drat, that's the real deal right there. Kind of legally weird that you have to be an investor to see what they're claiming qualifies them for a tax credit- presumably you should just need to be a taxpayer, since it's literally your money being given to them at that point? Oh well, laws.

BTW, did anyone else notice that they insisted on calling their engine cryengine, and not lumberyard? I haven't watched all of the seven hours, mind you, but I watched some of the tech stuff and they always referred to either "their" engine or cryengine, never Lumberyard. Amazon honeymoon failed?

Some of that looked pretty cool, but no way that wasn't 100% scripted. You have to be incredibly dumb to pay a single more dollar, before getting a playable demo of this in your hands. I'm so happy that the dreams will go on for probably a bit longer. The longer this goes on, the more spectacular the crash.

There's some fairly incorrect/misleading info in there. The only real definitive angle would be if "Squadron 42" is the qualifying game and they are claiming tax credits for expenses relating to "Star Citizen". While the numbers suggest to me that this has happened to some degree, there's no way to prove it.

Really Crobbler had no choice but to repeat Gamescom 2016 and contract the demo out to a third party, all the rest of his devs are crunching on As I said in Also still no sign of SQ42, not even the tiniest cut scene. Odd for a game that was supposedly almost ready to be demoed at last years Citizencon were it not for Chris' perfectionism in the face of a few bugs (well, that's the backers' story).

Welp, I just bought my Pioneer Now I just have to wait until they implement planetary landings, landing on player-controlled ships, multicrew, mineral surveys, land claims, base building, mining, refining, and trading, and I'll be able to use it the way it was advertised It's probably the best investment I've ever made

I'm floored that citizens managed to be even more credulous than I thought. I know that makes me the idiot for thinking they would have learned anything in the past few years, but I still can't believe it. By the way, did we ever find out who made CIG's demo vids for this event? There were a bunch of leaks about new contractors working on them but I don't recall a reveal of the company name.

CIG has embraced the AAA developer/publisher "show a pre-rendered demo" and finally done what they wanted to do all along-- killed the thread. I'll bet the starcitizen subreddit that's usually all "it's great that they're doing this live and not prerendering stuff" didn't notice or care, either, because "things that publishers do that are horrible" are only horrible if it's not CIG doing it. 3.0 won't hit non-avocados until 2018 and everyone who would complain has been quieted down with SSDs* for at least another couple months so wake me up when something interesting happens I guess *In before "Evocati with low framerates are only happening because their SSDs aren't good enough"

What's perhaps most shocking is that you all still don't realize how stupid and gullible their core whale backers are, and how willing they are and will continue to be to fund "the dream". Every time Derek says "this is it, it's over" is like a guarantee they have at least another year bought and paid for by the most desperate group of human beings imaginable.
