I can't believe I've used this app for over six years now. Thanks for not taking pics of my dinger and posting them on the internet like all those other Something Awful phone applications have been doing to me. I enjoy occasionally going through the Play Store and reading the reviews, too.

The red just slightly clashes on the dark theme so it was a bit off putting. If it's in the theme settings somewhere, I'll edit it (if nobody else cares), I just haven't delved into the pits of the CSS yet.

I recently lost my S5 and am temporarily stuck with a total POS Obamaphone (ZTE N817 running KitKat 4.4.4) and post previews aren't working any more. I just get like a horizontal stripe which is blue on the bottom and white on the top. Is this because of the Android version?

It's a WebView thing (the component that displays posts) - if you can't install this and get the latest version, you're stuck with whatever version comes with 4.4.4. I think even the stock Marshmallow one has issues with it until you update Why doesn't it work in previews when it works fine everywhere else?

For some reason about an hour ago I started getting "loading failed" on the app. I tried switching from WiFi to data and it still happened. Then I tried logging out and logging back in, which resulted in "login failed." I tested my username and password on the browser and it is correct. I cleared the cache, then the data, then uninstalled and reinstalled the app. I'm still having the same issue. Any suggestions?

My login is fine, but my bookmarks don't update and opening a thread is just a blank screen, though I'm on an ancient version of Android (4.2.2) so it's probably the same problem with different symptoms.

We can't really diagnose this stuff, it always seems to be regional and maybe related to Cloudflare? It happens to people and apparently clears up later

Clearing data doesn't help does it? (It'll clear your settings so you might want to export them first, see if it works before you import them again)

Clearing data has mot fixed the problem, but has confirmed I cant actually logjn from the app either. Just for the heck of it i tried Something app as well and cant log in there either... assuming that app usually works for people this might not be app specific. as this post demo strates though my browser still connects fine

Ditto, been not working for me since around 2-3 pm MDT yesterday. Forums weren't loading in the app, so I logged out and couldn't log back in. Cleared my data, no change. Reinstalled the app, no change. Restarted my phone... No change. I'm posting this from my phone browser.

App hasn't worked for over a day for me. Reset phone, reinstalled app, etc. After reinstalling it said "log in failed" when trying to log in. I don't know much about how these things work, what does it mean that the issue is apparently Cloudflare?

The site runs through a service called Cloudflare, which sits between us and SA and does stuff like content delivery. Usually that's transparent, but if there's some kind of issue it means you'll get some kind of Cloudflare stuff on the page, or just a whole Cloudflare error page and no SA content at all The app doesn't know what to do with that, so you just get a generic error. Came here to post the same issue.. Looks like other people are getting it too.. ie.. wont load.. then if you log out it wont log in. Also tried all the same things, uninstalled, delete cache, ect.

If it's cloudflare, shouldn't it also affect the ability to reach the site thru alternative means by the same network (i.e. switch to generic browser)? Or am I misunderstanding how cloudflare works?

I'm on an old KitKat era-ish rom and the awful app stopped working entirely for me too. Wouldn't load forum pages yesterday morning and can't log in after reinstalling it.

For what it matters, I'm on a Pixel with Android 8.0.0, the current Play version of Awful and my connection in the Washington DC area over cell and WiFi hasn't had a problem.
