It would even be possible to add support for fan patches through Steam Workshop, so yeah, they (still) wouldn't even have to go through the process of localization. I was secretly hoping for this ever since I saw Koei-Tecmo adding ports of their PC-98 catalog (all in Japanese of course) but with Steam Direct, they definitely made it easy enough for one reasonably busy person to do it. I bought the Touhou fangame "Touhou Double Focus" because it was $2 on PSN and its terrible. I enjoyed Rabi-Ribi, so I figured this Metroidvania would be okay. The game doesn't have any invincibility frames when you take damage so enemies just stunlock you.

Wow, Reimu being racist as hell isn't surprising, but everyone is racist towards Nitori for being a kappa. How shameful. Also, are the past versions of these archived somewhere? I'd like to see them all again, I forgot what some of them said. (Reimu is so amazingly hateful and arbitrary in hers, wow. It's kind of hilarious. Also, Sanae rating Suwako as lower than herself? Huh.)

I like that sometimes Sanae doesn't understand anything what either of her mums say, but with Kanako it's awe-inspiring and with Suwako it's just annoying. Someone's clearly picking favourites.

Fun highlights of the HSiFS interview: Eternity Larva was meant to be an impressive, boss-like name that would seem out of place on a fairy. Nemuno was considered for having Gal fashion with a lot of make-up. Okina was originally designed for a wheelchair, which is why he first drew her sitting. There are also a lot of interesting things that probably shouldn't be read in summary form.
