This has to be a multi-player trade. Hawks had like 1 mil room on the Cap.

I bet it is Lane, do the Texans need CB help? (yes RW just threw 450)

Texans could use a TE as well.

Well we've got the most promising rookie QB in years and a shot at the playoffs.

Better trade our LT away.

Also, that was somehow RW's first >400 yard game (previous high: 373 vs. TEN this year).

I wonder how much of this is McNair trying to clear out a player who would have spoken openly against him.

Funny to see a trade happen right after the Hawks and Texans play each other. How often does that happen? Not very, I imagine

That reminds me. The 49ers lost two starters yesterday (Joe Staley and Jimmie Ward). Ward broke his arm so he's probably done for the year. Staley is out at least a few weeks but any complication to the recovery and they'll probably just IR him. Solomon Thomas was hurt, but likely only a couple week injury, if that. They lost Arik Armstead recently with a broken hand.

That's four starters.

THEY'RE GOING TO BE EVEN WORSE, SOMEHOW

Sign Kirk and trade the first for a bunch of picks (Or maybe just draft Barkley first overall)

I think he's better than Griffin, but he didn't endear himself much by 1) bitching about getting replaced and 2) committing DPI in his first action yesterday.

He got benched for a rookie earlier this year, if that gives you an indication of his play.

he thinks he is better than he is, but he is totally serviceable in the slot and would be a lower/mid end CB2

Yeah, but I mean, this whole mess was their mistake. They could've worked out something to placate the guy at any point up to this, and instead lost an excellent LT for half the year, then gave him away for way too little because their owner is embroiled in a scandal.

There are no good free agent tackles available or in the draft. They had a rare thing and just gave it away.

If you wanted to be really charitable to the Texans, you could make the case that beyond being a dissident/holdout, Brown hadn't played a full season or made the pro bowl since 2014 and Watson has been having a stellar season without him, but it still looks like a bad trade with completely avoidable bad blood to me

I thought d link was just referring to the trade itself which was eh... fine, considering they were dealing from the position they were in.
