Why is your population so garbage that you have to withhold toilets from them? You do have kindergartens and schools and stuff, right? Is "use the toilet properly and don't make a mess" too controversial for kids to learn or something?

Public toilets just encourage the homeless to think they're people. With rights and dignity and poo poo.

Is "use the toilet properly and don't make a mess" too controversial for kids to learn or something? It's a strategy to stop homeless people from shooting up and hanging around public spaces like BART. They got rid of a whole bunch of benches near the Civic Center years ago to try to stop them from coming but they just set up tents now. Now they are building libraries with jagged and rough floors around the building so people don't try to sleep there. The people that poo poo on bart and trains are just assholes though looking for attention and/or mentally ill. Bathrooms wouldn't help them whatsoever. That seems really inefficient. Wouldn't it be better to gather up the homeless in some sort camps in areas away from the public, instead of building "jagged floors"?

Yeah that all seems like a healthy and rational method of dealing with social problems, that the self-proclaimed leader of the free world should feel great pride in enacting. It's the closest to cutting off your own nose to spite your face that I've seen in a long time.

This is just San Francisco. The rest of the country doesn't have the same magnitude of homeless problems. We also spend like 250 million a year on homeless services and shelters but it's all full.

Well obviously socialist housing policies and welfare would better but this is Trump's America were talking about here.

speaking from experience, it is surprisingly difficult to go to the bathroom for free in most major cities without committing a low-level crime

china bot posted:speaking from experience, it is surprisingly difficult to go to the bathroom for free in most major cities without committing a low-level crime People have even made online maps for cities like NYC to try and locate free or nearly free bathrooms. You'd think Times Square would be easy, but nope. Your only real option is to find a fast food restaurant or something and hope that everyone is too distracted to notice a non-customer entering. Every business owner is so terrified of letting the rabble come in (usually excusing it as "They'll just do drugs and masturbate in the bathroom if we let them use it for free!") that even non-homeless people can get hosed over.

It's also fun that we're at a point with things online where there has to be an entirely separate site dedicated to raising money very specifically for white supremacy and hate speech. Like, they tried to be coy about their hate speech by calling it free speech or what have you, but got kicked off anyway. So now they just go to a place where they can be very public about the exact reason they're raising the money, thus losing any sort of defense they could've mounted against being called hate speech.

So they get the PR benefit of saying "we're nixing House of Cards" while still continuing to produce House of Cards. I'm waiting for Brian Singer to fall. How on earth does the US House Cards last nearly 80 episodes? The source material didn't go beyond 12 episodes so they must be really going off on tangents and filler.

In The Office's case it got good when it stopped retreading the UK-version beat-for-beat, and stopped being good when Carrell got bored of it.
