I know the Russ talk is well played, but I'm watching Awful Squad for the first time in a while. Twenty minutes in, just as the group are about to spring a trap they spent five minutes setting up, Russ for no reason tosses a smoke grenade and ruins it. Everyone yells at him, and then he does it again. I honestly can't tell if he did this on purpose. I've always thought he was just bad and tried to play it off, but this had actual comedic timing to it. It's worse if he's doing it on purpose because it's not funny and it seems like near everyone watching hates it too.

I'll admit, I got to that part as I was typing my post, and the fiery wreck made me reconsider. That was funny, but it was pretty much the same thing as the smoke. I guess he's decided his thing now is to find ways to undercut the team's prep with something dumb and hope it's funny to someone.

Honestly, the trap earlier would have been cool if you were playing with them but it's boring as Hell for a livestream. What Russ did was dumb as hell, but I won't argue with the results.

I mean the trap wasn't exactly exciting, but having them set a trap and wait around the whole time only to have it ruined at the last minute was much worse, because then what was the point of the rest of it?

I mean as a player I would've been outraged. As an observer, it's hilarious. The point is that they have this trap all set up (which doesn't even fuckin' work anyway, that guy zooms through) and Russ is just like "here's smoke!" and gently caress it all up after like ten minutes of waiting. It's loving great and I appreciate that lanky stupid man.

I know it would kill the joke, but I also kinda wish they had included the 30 seconds before the video starts, where Yuna explains that she has to live every minute of her life faking her cheerfulness for the benefit of others because she's the face of hope for thousands of people. At least they kept in the more genuine laughs after the obviously fake ones. I just really like FFX and hate the poo poo that scene gets unfairly, ok?
