3 out of 4 engine manufacturers don't like the new proposal and the 4th is staying silent. Don't think these engines will ever see the light of day lol.

Indycar is a poverty series who will not benefit in the unlikely case of an F1 split. The most likely outcome would be the death of high level motorsport.

I like to think Sergio tried slipping Liberty some cash and went "make things favorable for us" like you could do with Bernie and Liberty merely laughed at him.

To be clear there is a 0% chance that there will be an F1 split because the people involved in the sport are not entirely stupid, unlike Tony George who had legitimate developmental issues.

Oh I know, just the Tifosi like to posture that there will be if Ferrari doesn't get their way.

The only good thing I can say about Tony George is his spearheading of SAFER, and that's it.

Ferrari just announced a big jump in profits last quarter. Had they spent that extra money on non-bin drivers/team then maybe they would've won the championship instead of being sore losers again.

Their F1 program is actually a decently sized stream of income on their financial statements lol.

Don't they get like over 100m just for being Ferrari from FIA every year?

I don't know how it is in other countries, but I know in the US people drive Ferraris because they're Ferraris, not because of F1 results or pedegree or anything else. For them, it's a status symbol.

Something like that, I think the total revenue they got from the FIA was grouped together at 350m and then they got some amount I forget for sponsorship and somewhere between 50-100m for engines, but that was for all of Ferrari.

Also, please look at Indycar post-1995 to see exactly how damaging a split will be. It should put anyone off ever considering it. Also Sergio Marchionne is a moron.

They got that reputation FROM their successes in racing. Ferrari=Fast Racing Car, even this piece of poo poo;

Chrysler is in worse shape than it was pretty merger in terms of product lineup lol. I'd be shocked if he's at FCA two years from now. His big plan was to make Alfa a premium brand in America and that's largely been a bust.

He'll probably remain at Ferrari, decide to build more cars because the demand is actually there, and be lauded as a genius.

Nobody is seriously considering a split it's all theater for the initial bargaining for the new engine regs.

IDK if his attitude changed over time but Enzo initially considered the road car sales to be a necessary distraction to fund his sportscar and F1 teams. IIRC someone said he hated all Ferrari customers.

(basically the complete opposite of Lambo, who considered motorsport to be a complete waste of time and money, which, to be fair, is pretty much true)
