Indycar is a poverty series who will not benefit in the unlikely case of an F1 split. The most likely outcome would be the death of high level motorsport.

I like to think Sergio tried slipping Liberty some cash and went "make things favorable for us" like you could do with Bernie and Liberty merely laughed at him.

To be clear there is a 0% chance that there will be an F1 split because the people involved in the sport are not entirely stupid, unlike Tony George who had legitimate developmental issues.

Oh I know, just the Tifosi like to posture that there will be if Ferrari doesn't get their way. The only good thing I can say about Tony George is his spearheading of SAFER, and that's it.

Ferrari just announced a big jump in profits last quarter. Had they spent that extra money on non-bin drivers/team then maybe they would've won the championship instead of being sore losers again.

Ferrari need F1 more than F1 needs Ferrari, they just don't realise it themselves yet because Bernie pandered to them for decades

Something like that, I think the total revenue they got from the FIA was grouped together at 350m and then they got some amount I forget for sponsorship and somewhere between 50-100m for engines, but that was for all of Ferrari.

He'll probably remain at Ferrari, decide to build more cars because the demand is actually there, and be lauded as a genius.
