Increasing the standard deduction and lowering the cap on mortgage interest deduction is a pretty good idea. gently caress getting rid of state & local tax payment deductions though.

It most certainly doesn't allow you to claim them as a tax deduction. All it allows for is adding them as a beneficiary for a savings account. You can designate your dog as a beneficiary on your life insurance, but it doesn't make them a person.

This law would allow pregnant women to designate a 529 account beneficiary 9 months in advance of birth. That's all.
