So wait, OG Maxie/Archie count as successful but the ORAS versions don't? ... didn't they succeed exactly as much in both versions? Unless we're pulling in their Emerald versions I guess. But even then, I thought they still had a dumb face turn at the end?

I wonder if the little icons in the trailer indicating ultra sun for totem lurantis and ultra moon for totem salazzle mean that totem-ness can't be traded or if that's just where you obtain them

If these villains won then why is Ghetsis just hanging out instead of ruling the world or whatever. Same with Cyrus not just being cool with having recreated the universe. I guess it makes sense with Maxie and Archie though because even when they win they lose, and I can see Giovanni wanting to become Don of the multiverse.

Cyrus realizing there's still emotion in other worlds would probably get him to act because he really, really hates those pesky emotions. Gotta erase them completely. Ghetsis might just want to expand his sphere of influence like Giovanni. After all, with an infinite multiverse, you can always rule more.
