Pacers are a fun team to watch. Really unexpected coming into the season, but it's great to see.

Celtics came back from an 18 point deficit to win by 7. I would be lying if I said I thought they would start this well even with Hayward, much less without him. Al Horford is really balling out there and Kyrie stepped it up in the late game

When Kidd started his career, the illegal defense rules made it perfectly viable to play a point guard who couldn't shoot from outside. Nowadays, baby Kidd would be a huge liability on offense because teams could cheat off of him all day long.

In terms of overall shooting 1996 Jason Kidd is basically 2015 Trey Burke.

I can see the Bulls 49-82 loss to the Heat with the naked eye.

LBJ saw this chart and panicked and decided to have his best pro game EVER :

code:

3/3/2014	MIA	48.8
2/3/2011	MIA	46.7
1/15/2008	CLE	45
12/30/2009	CLE	44.7
2009-05-20*	CLE	44.7
2/26/2013	MIA	44.2
3/5/2008	CLE	44
2009-05-09*	CLE	43.8
4/1/2006	CLE	43.8
3/13/2009	CLE	43.4
3/20/2005	CLE	42.9
2/4/2009	CLE	42.9
12/10/2005	CLE	42.9
2016-06-16*	CLE	42.5

3/1/2012	MIA	40.6
2/18/2010	CLE	40.1
12/10/2016	CLE	40

LBJ likes the third day of the month. LBJ now has twenty 40+ GmSc games. Since 1984 only Michael Jordan has more (56 total).

Should've been doing this a lot more on the Bulls.

I know it's the nets but

Lopez (34 pts, 10 reb)
Kuzma (24p, 13r)
Ingram (18p, 10r)

That's the best front court play the Lakers have had in a long drat time

Hahaha I just came over here to post, because I was just thinking that, it would have been way loving better if luke walton stayed at the warriors because think about how much skills and basketball iq Kevin Durant would be absorbing under coach walton. Like he is already great but imagine if he had luke walton showin him the ropes, that really could have been next level

Until he adds another 10 pounds or has a legit three point shot, he isn't going to average twenty a game. However, his all around game has improved remarkably and driving the lane is way more fruitful for him than it was last year.

Lonzo's actually pretty good at driving to the net just like Kidd was.

https://3ball.io/plays?evtt=1&p1id=1628366&playId=0021700076_46

He's got a great first step and has the vision but he's a total wuss when it comes to contact up near the rim which leads to low amount of free throws piled on with only hitting 55% of his FTs so far this season (small sample size but still, you're a PG, Lonzo.)

https://3ball.io/plays?evtt=2&p1id=1628366&playId=0021700082_131

Like look how low he has the ball and how late he gets it up even though he beats 3 Jazz defenders to the paint.

https://3ball.io/plays?evtt=2&p1id=1628366&playId=0021700064_282

And on this one he tries to do a weird windmill layup instead of just going up strong with it.

https://3ball.io/plays?evtt=2&p1id=1628366&playId=0021700040_264

Lonzo loves these long distance floaters. They seem to be really low percentage but it's late and I'm not looking that far into it. Point is he chooses these floaters because 1) his jumper sucks and 2) he's afraid of charging at NBA centers. When he does he does those stupid windmill/reverse late layups that aren't quick enough yet for the NBA. He'll get there but this year will be rough for him. Also he gets assists and rebounds and is actually quite good at it.

It's really frustrating how in my scouting I basically only called out two players I didn't want the Lakers to draft (Ball and Bryant) and they got both of them.

zoux posted:

Ingram certainly gave the haters/hot takers a lot of fuel from like October until January last season. He picked it up from there but by then not a lot of people were paying attention.

Kyrie and Horford have clicked. They're playing with serious chemistry. The team is playing great defense, including the young guys. Taytum and Brown are playing as good as anyone could have hoped.

This comes down to coaching. Brad Stevens for coach of the year.

Last night might have been the ideal Derozan game.

Killed everyone at midrange, had some nice passes, drew a ton of contact and went 14/14 FT.

Even hit 3 - 3s, one of which was a four point play. All against a good Jazz defense.

Across all last year Ingram's PER and WS/48 were pretty identical to Lonzo's first 9 games. Ingram's game was not one that was going to translate to the NBA very quickly, so I think most smart people were saying not to judge him by his first year. Even now, I think his shot is going to have to come along a lot better, but he showed some flashes the 2nd half of the year, but it was pretty inconsistent. To me, I expect he'll still be overall bad this year and really look to next year for a breakout.
