I think that bow and arrow guy said that he prefers people to shake his stump like that, he may just not have noticed and the video cuts off too early. Drive thru places in America are a consequence of the land being huge and most people driving everywhere, as well as a lack of decent public transport in most cities. CVS/Walgreens will do minor shopping for you under certain circumstances: you're a frequent customer, you're disabled in some way that makes it hard to walk through a store, the store isn't super busy, and whatever item you want will fit through the little door that the Rx gets put into. Sometimes if the pharmacy was busy but the store wasn't, they would call a front employee to grab an item and take it back there, or meet the customer out front with it.

The gif cuts a bit early but you can LITTERALLY see the archer lift his foot up and the guy giving him the medal stooping to shake his foot. I think it's admirable that they both kinda went with it. to me, it shows class.

Zero One posted:Man who sent prostitutes to neighbors' door while he watched from his house is sentenced to 4 years in prison This story doesn't make any sense. These prostitutes, are they in on the plan? Or does he have to give instructions to each one every time he does it? "yeah go to this address, and before you even enter the house, just strip off in public." I mean after you get the 4th or 5th prostitute arrested for public indecency and / or indecent exposure to a minor, you'd think a pimp would stop taking orders for that address? I mean it only takes loving a pizza delivery guy over once or twice to get your house blacklisted.

Paywave/paypass transactions aren't a thing there I guess? What's weird is that often in the US their POS systems accept paywave perfectly, but no-one knows and even the staff are ignorant of the fact. You have to work hard to convince a shopowner to just wave your card over their terminal and they act like it's the most amazing thing ever when it works. (Well, that's how it went when I was there 18 months ago.)

My Chase card had contactless payments and it worked at a few places (mostly McDonalds) but it wasn't very popular and eventually my replacement cards lacked the capability. Then Apple "invented" ApplePay and that's what everyone thinks of when they talk about contactless now.

And the convention is in Anaheim, at most an hour away. Why did they have to send a box through customs? Couldn't they have gotten anyone in the sixth largest economy to build and move it locally?

Fair enough, although in Riverdale it's not portrayed in a positive light and IIRC as soon as it's found out (which is, like, episode 2 maybe?) Ms. Grundy is run out of town. (That said, I don't disagree that it's a pretty hosed-up image to use in the promo "poster".)

There must be all sorts of precedent. Actors (or other front-and-centre credited people, like executive producers or directors) who were accused/convicted of various crimes after a show or movie was released. That would presumably affect the commercial success of the show, but wouldn't be a reason to remove that criminal's name from the credits. Hollywood has been sleazy for a hundred years, there must be an entire database of murderers, robbers, thieves, rapists (OK, most would have been covered up, sure, but not all), etc. etc. who also had prominent roles.

I see the Paywave symbol at checkouts more often than not, but I've never actually seen it used or been issued a card that supports it. What's so great about it? I don't really see the point unless you are using your card hundreds of times every day so that wearing out the contacts is an actual possibility.
