When YoRHa have issues with their emotions, standard operating procedure is to tell them "don't have 'em, it's prohibited", and the practically only available coping mechanism for anything is "go planetside and take it out on the machines for a while", at least until E-Drugs came along. It's a god-drat miracle 9S isn't even more of a mess.

Given what we learned about Simone's backstory and how this poo poo is going down now that she's gone, I'd say the answer is obvious: Jean-Paul is Future-Robot-Wesker and he's released the RoboT-Virus. For the sake of resuming Party Time, A2 or 9S needs to find him and kick the crap out of him. I'm not sure if he deserves it more for being Wesker or more for being Jean-Paul though.
