I had a fun drill weekend. It was a total clusterfuck, then we sat around yesterday doing nothing for two hours waiting for release, despite there being a huge thunderstorm coming in and most of us having an hour+ drive. Finally get released, and the first fifty minutes of my hour drive was fine. Then the storm let loose, the interstate slowed to 5mph, I couldn't see anything despite an LED light bar I put in my bumper, and when I finally got off two miles later and got past all the pulled-over semis, the town I go through was flooded under like two feet of water. I know it was around two feet because I have a horn relocated behind my bumper and it's shielded from anything less than about that, and it's full of water and sounds like the roadrunner meepmeep now. If I had been in my car instead of my beater xterra I'd have been hosed. Thanks, command.

I was glad that at least when I showed up as part of the new crop of 2LTs in the unit, and the 1LTs were excitedly talking about how hilarious it was going to be when all the new LTs and privates got hazed (beaten up and tossed in cold water and covered in sand and rotten food were apparently about par for the course), we collectively decided to end that practice by making it clear that anyone who tried that poo poo was going to have such a fight on their hands, the MPs would have to get called out. Somehow, the unit managed to get along without such stupid practices after that!

Constantly rotating in and out of the field and working late in garrison means you can’t have a life outside the Army. Things probably aren’t going to work out with the current girl I’m dating because I’m either working or gone too much. I️ don’t know how the gently caress people put up with this poo poo for 20+ years.

There's a dude in my unit that decided to dip outta the last day of drill last month, and all of this month who decided to post some poo poo about Bergdahl. I had it and basically called his rear end out. Like how the gently caress do you decide to go UA one day, leave your troops hanging (he was a team leader), skip the PT test, and then miss the entire next month because you "had better poo poo to do", and have the gall to even begin to bitch about how light his sentence was?

My main reasoning for making CPT was making CPT pay for a while before I got out and just pocketing some money since I️ don’t think I’ll be making as much when I️ first get out. My buddy just got out and works for Amazon and makes slightly less but he’s a whole lot happier now...
