And what should one do to be remembered?
I am always amazed by those on Reddit and the official forums that ask for China to be added to the game. At least there's a tech tree, I've seen people asking for a Polish or Canadian tree.

Why do other players always lower their landing gear after getting killed when I'm in spectator mode? Is it like a disconnect between the server and my game? Kinda like how in spectator mode it looks like the player is not accurately pointed at an enemy while firing but they still get a kill?

That's what happens after a pilot snipe, it actually happens in-game. Pay attention to the plane of someone you pilot-sniped and you'll see it in action. I have no idea why it happens.

They did that on purpose to prevent you landed plane from flopping onto the ground in the runway when you j out of it. It's dumb but it's their fix.

It was documented as happening in the war. From memory it was the target being so shot up that it's hydraulic lines failed causing the wheels to drop. I'm sure gun cam footage would show it happening.

The secret is to do the opposite, pop them after you get horribly stomped a few times.

Or just pop them whenever, law of averages will work it out in the end.

Matter of fact, I'm salty now.
The P40 is extremely cool and good because most of the armour on the hull is angled between 45 and 35 degrees, meaning that ~a lot~ of shells bounce, or that the effective thickness is high. The weakest point is truly the turret, so most of the killshots come from there.

I have bounced a lot lot of rounds which would normally clean up a tank which is similiarly armoured (e.g., Japanese tanks). It plays like an armoured car and the HEAT is actually good so it's definitely my favourite tank at the moment. The only downsides would be that Italians don't get very good attackers (good fighters though, if that helps), and that you might as well give up if you are facing Soviets because they are too thick even for HEAT.

Would be nice to get an Italian Ju-87 or something which can carry a large bomb for CARB.

Even taking off with a 200% booster on and getting shot down immediately afterwards will yield more RP than if you hadn't activated the booster.

Basically the way I see it is if I pop a 200% RP booster and get shot down immediately accomplishing nothing, without the booster I'd have to have another two games where I get shot down immediately accomplishing nothing to match that up. That's two matches like that I will potentially not have to go through to get whatever lovely modification I'm trying to unlock.

What's the point of Fw 190s? They can't outclimb, outrun, outdive, or outturn Americans and later 109s go fast as hell anyway.

A Fw 190 is a better P-47 in every way that matters in plane combat so use it like one?

Custom tank sights are a thing now.

Its actually possible to do pretty neat stuff with it, a bit tedious though.
Still, nice to be able to finally change the sight to be less cluttered in a half assed fashion.

P-47Ms can also get air spawns.

The FW-190 U2 can carry a ridiculous amount of firepower. It's smaller than a P-47, so it doesn't dive as well, but it climbs better, and more often than not, the German team will be above the Americans and initiate the next turkey shoot.

Elevator evasion is stupid because it is predictable and can be adjusted for.

Picture two planes flying, one pursuing the other, and imagine two lines projecting from each plane: the flight path, and the gun trajectory. The pursuer has his gun trajectory intersecting the flight path of the runner. The runner tries to evade by pulling hard with the elevators, pitching the plane up on a dime. The pursuer doesn't give a poo poo because his gun trajectory still has a point of intersection where his rounds will murder the runner, he just has to aim well. Runner dies.

Start over, but this time the runner evades by rolling hard and gently pitching. Instantly, the intersection between the pursuer gun trajectory and runner flight path is broken: no amount of aim will make your bullets steer left. The runner has a better roll rate than the pursuer and never lets his attacker intersect the lines. Also, he's escaping faster because he didn't bleed all his speed off as a hard pitch evasion would. If the pursuer is still going faster, the runner can abuse the rolling to scissor back and forth until the pursuer overshoots, them try and kill them or peel off and flee while the pursuer is disoriented.

Having a superior roll rate is good and is a huge advantage whether attacking or defending. If you get to jets, it's why MiGs lose to Sabres.

Also, the Jug doesn't have a good roll rate, but the Corsair absolutely does, is lighter, and is still a fast as gently caress American BnZer. The only downsides to a Corsair to the Jug are the worse ammo belts and the longer climb time (At this point I haven't yet unlocked the F4U-4 with the four blade prop).

190s used to be good when every other plane it faced was bad and couldn't climb, but now are bad because the rigid BnZ style of the 190 is really old hat and extremely predictable.

Maybe it is better in sim?? Who knows, bad planes can be okay in sim
