I think that's exactly it. Rejection and licking your wounds is part of growing up in all aspects, not just romantically. I sure spent me some years just trying to hit on random girls and learning how to not be a weirdo, it takes effort and lotsa footwork As well as a pretty drat high failure rate, making success that much more triumphant E: to put it simply, attracting a desirable mate is one of the toughest challenges every living thing ever faces (for good reason) so by being a little bitch, you are effectively putting yourself out of the running and then it becomes a vicious cycle of bitterness and self-loathing KingSlime has a new favorite as of 22:50 on Nov 8, 2017 |

Another big thing they do to avoid any actual effort toward self improvement is convince themselves they are just completely unfuckably ugly because of the genetic lottery, and just kind of ignore the fact that hygiene, grooming, and knowing how to dress yourself all go a long way.

And believe me, I'm far from a resounding success with women, I go long periods of time without any dating prospects, but I recognize those times as a result of my own flaws. Not putting enough effort into how I present myself, not putting myself out there, general anti-social feelings and all that crap, but there's never a point where I say "it's not me, the women are the problem". That's just a whole other category of damaged that I'm very glad I didn't end up with, probably has something to do with my age. I'm a bit too old to have lived on the internet during high school, I had to actually get out there and see people in person to find friends to interact with.
